My free year of ATV+ will end soon. Currently no reason to start paying. Maybe when all episodes of the next Slow Horses are available a month of ATV+ is in order.

Everything else is in the category “maybe I check them later someday”.

Who really watches a show because it has won an Emmy ?

Sometimes it helps you find shows to watch, and then decide for your own if you like it. After last year's Emmys we tried Hacks (HBO Max show), and it was REALLY good. When people see that shows like Severance (fantastic show) and The Pitt (to me even better) were nominated for a bunch of awards, it raises awareness and people do take a look.

No love for "Silo"? I'm enjoying that show much more than the others mentioned here.

First season of Silo was amazing. The second season was a little rough at times with the split story and half missing the star, she's really the draw. The last few episodes were great, though, and looking forward to the third season.

  • Acapulco: Canceled after season 4
  • Mythic Quest: Canceled after season 4
  • Schmigadoon: Canceled after season 2
  • Still Up: Canceled after season 1
  • Sunny: Canceled after season 1
  • Time Bandits: Canceled after season 1
I thought there were others canceled, like 'For All Mankind,' 'Star City,' etc. I did read blurbs about being canceled. Now, there is no real data on what is rumored to be canceled by Apple. Even though it's been 2 or more years, there hasn't been an update to the series. Must Stay Tuned I assume

It has been nominated like 50+ times.
No, you don’t understand, recognizing that it’s one of the 4 best in a particular category, better than ANYTHING else at the time, means NOTHING! Not winning means they consider it to be a horrible show! /s :)

"The Studio" has 75% ranking on Rotten Tomatoes. That's pretty low. Who are the morons that nominate the shows for Emmy?
FWIW my understanding is that Emmys are not awarded for an entire season, but for a specific episode. So a bad show overall could have a great performance by an actor in a single episode (not to mention in all episodes).

TEHRAN is excellent not up for Emmy or two? Severance is cool too.
Tehran is great! But there may be political issues. S3 never aired on Apple+ as far as I know (a couple of episodes aired on something called KAN) and Apple requested S4 episodes to be rewritten before starting production because of recent events.

I sincerely hope Jessica Lee Gagné (director, cinematography), Dan Erickson, and Mark Friedman (writers) get acknowledged for S2 Ep7 of Severance "Chikhai Bardo". Easily the most stunning hour of television I've watched in years.

I see Keith Fraase received a well-deserved editing nom.

That sux Sunny got canceled. I really enjoyed that one and was looking forward to seeing more. Wouldn't have minded another season of Still Up and Mr. Corman also.

MQ and Acapulco (season 4 coming next month I think) were/are great, but have pretty much run their course. Time Bandits really set the bar high with its title and never got close to it, imho. Just started season 2 of Schmigadoon, and really enjoying it, but I can see how it's premise would be very hard to sustain.

makes sense to me... all the industry inside jokes and one-shot camera work isn't going to be everyone's cuppa. Even as someone who "got it" I thought it was pretty uneven. But when it worked it hit hard. Several scenes had me laughing so hard I was literally gasping for air.

Does 75% on Rotten Tomatoes means 3 out of 4 people or is it weighted in some way? Because, with the number of people on Rotten Tomatoes, I can’t see how 3 out of 4 people could be considered “low”.

Looking forward to Acapulco. Spouse and I really liked the show. (Also looking forward to TMS)
