Who is bitter? At the end of the day Apple's popularity will drop and people will move on to something else.

It happed with IBM, Sony and Nokia to name a few and it will happen with Apple.

People will get bored and move on.
That’s likely true of most things. Apple, Coca-Cola, The United States, Christianity, humanity, etc. Nothing lasts forever.

The problem is that people say “at the end of the day” as if today is that day. And they’ve been saying it for a long time.

Apple might lose its popularity next year, or sometime in the 2090s. But it’s highly likely they will have the best-selling mobile phone model again this year.

Most of the bitter people are just annoyed that apple products are not the price of low to mid tier android phones

With no mention of the stellar support that's 4x longer then android for OS updates

If by stellar you mean Nagware updates, loss of features over time, and a guaranteed slower phone.
Computer wise they're a joke, they used to make real pro hardware. Now its overpriced throwaway computers. This screen grab for a Powermac G4 in 2001 translates to roughly $1,800 today. That got you a decade of support. You buy a Pro today and who knows how long Apple will support you.

"You came all this way to compete and only won a silver medal after losing by just a hundredth of a second, you must be crushed." No, they're the second best athlete in the world and a slight forward lean from being the best, that's freaking amazing. For some reason people ascribe excessive weight to the number 1 spot even if the distinction in performance is negligible.

Invest on revenue, gamble on growth.

I agree with this.

Consistency is more important. A guy who always places second is better than a guy who places first every once in a while but comes in 3rd or 4th most of the time.

Apple may not win at everything, but they do win where it counts (for them, especially financially).

Being the best selling does not mean it is the best.

$45B in profit. That just makes me want to walk into our local Apple Store and just throw $100 bills in the air for them to keep...sort of like when I bought my last iPhone 7 from them.

Why would I as a consumer care what profit Apple make? Or any company for that matter.

Apple was the biggest tax payer in the US last year…
Tax Evasion: Top 3 companies holding money overseas are Apple, Google, Microsoft in this order, so nothing new, Apple didn't break any laws, Apple paid all the taxes they owe to Government.
Sweat Shops: Every manufacturing company use same OEMs in China, none of the electronics are made in US/EU/UK.
Planned obsolescence: Apple supports their products longer than other manufacturers (Android phones are the worst unless you think people can install custom ROM to get latest updates is workable solution for most people)

Correct. No one should care how much profit a company makes.

But the consumer should care when a company makes ZERO profit and they eventually disappear. Then it will affect them.

I bet fans of Palm wish they had done a little better in the profit department. Instead Palm got in trouble... were sold off the the highest bidder... gutted... and now they are only a memory.
