Are you putting them in the right way?

I had the same problem with the ear pods not staying in but the. I noticed they looked a bit slanted and looked a bit out of place in my ear. So I just turned them a bit and they fit perfect.

Simple fix

Foam cushions! They make a huge difference. I've bought a lot them on eBay and most are thin and rip putting them on. Not these! Buyer was awesome, super fast shipping. Even tho I had to stretch to get
them on, did not rip. And they stay in. For 2 bucks, I'd say a pretty cheap fix.

Grrrrrr, for some reason I can't post a link. Just search for Hiegi High quality White Foam Cushions
on eBay, there is only one seller.

I love these. i couldnt work out with them without them falling out but thats fine. i have specific ones for that. sound way better than the old ones and even fit better.

They fit me fine. Which was a shock to me :D One size fits all things tend to not fit me (My work hat for example requires me to keep my hair SHORT, almost a buzz cut, or it just sits on top of my head and flys off in the wind. Which as a delivery driver, is an issue.)

First off obviously no volume controller... Well when I got my third generation three years ago it came with a volume controller!!
They have a volume control - like a large number of earphones, they have the mic with three buttons - center to stop/start/accept/etc and top and bottom to rock the volume.
Earpods cannot fail -- we can only fail our Earpods.

For some reason that brought this to mind

Sold them on this forum and use my beats tour in ear. You should shop around and find something that fits YOUR ear.
How much did u get for them because they make me frustrated that the phone speaker is evantualy louder than these crap earphones

I don't remember it was like four years ago my man. Check your dates

Damn things keep falling out of my ear. Yes, the sound is much improved, but the minute I do a sudden movement or even try to adjust the volume on mic they fall out.

I will stick to the tried and tested Soundmagic E10's minus the mic. They stay in my ear...

Try these they are great

Yep, another 'form-over-function' Apple device for sure. I ended up applying 'Griptac' covering on the new AppleTV remote so I could hold it without it slipping from my hand like a goldfish.
Seems like the "form" part would be quite applicable and the just as important in the context of this discussion actually. Given that the EarPods work for many people, and all kinds of people have issues with all kinds of headphones in some fashion, doesn't really seem like there's some sort of an underlying issue there underneath it all.

A drop of glue or some Sellotape can help.

Son of a gun!!! It worked!! I am a lab tech and we use a product called Parafilm in the lab ... which I believe is what Cellotape is.... Well I’ll be darned if a little 1/4” x 1” strip wrapped around the bud didn’t actually make an expensive but worthless pair of headphones functional and exceptional.

I find that EarPods naked work well, except when cycling where there is a combinations of some sweat and air friction (eg descending at 45MPH). I only wear one EarPod while cycling on the right side so that I can hear vehicles coming up from behind. On the right EarPod I use this and it works well https://www.amazon.com/EarSkinz-EarPod-Covers-ES2-iPhone/dp/B071L9HSNF. The only drawback is that the EarSkinz has to be removed in order to charge the EarPod in its case.
