I wonder why do apple earpods without mic AND without remote HAVE 4 pin jacks???
They should have L+ R+ and -
Why the 4th?

I'm a bit confused, Apple (as far as I'm aware) doesn't not produce EarPods without a mic? Do you have a link to the product you're referring to?

They don't sell them separately but you get them when buying an ipod nano for example :
