Apple Educational Discount on MacBook Pro after purchase?

Is it possible?

I'm looking to get Apple Care for the refurbished MacBook Pro I received last week to replace my 2012 model.

My wife is a teacher, is it possible to purchase Apple Care at the reduced pricing after initial "purchase"?

In the USA you could with the previous AppleCare plan, so I'm guessing it would be the same with the new AppleCare+, but I don't know about the UK (assuming your location is still London).

It had to be done in person, on the phone, or in chat, but they would point you to the product to buy. So I'd suggested getting ahold of Apple and asking.
