I have a 2016 13" MBP with max specs and was wanting to upgrade. I see Apple has the educational discounts on right now, during check out gives me $200 off and a $200 gift card. I priced out both MBP and MBA 13" maxed out and they are $100 difference (MBP costing more). I am leaning towards an air and maxing it out for product longevity.

Are these sales prices common? I don’t the educational discount being more than $150 in the past. The price on the MBP with out the discounts is cheaper than what I paid 7 years ago.

When does apple typically have sales?

Does anyone know what Apple means by quantity limits of "per year"? Their page has very legalistic wording but is ambiguous with this "per year".

Is the limit within the same calendar year (2022 vs 2023) or within a 365 day cycle? Like, can you buy 2 iPads on December 31 and then buy 2 more the next day on January 1? Or do you have to wait for a complete 365 days?

I doubt that it matters... Apple rarely questions ANY educational purchase transaction, or whether or not it's actually legit. When my kids were in school, I purchases MacBooks for them (total of 5 MacBooks in 2-½ years, and Apple never asked for any proof.
