Apple email. Can't send...

Operating system is SnowLeopard. Email version 4.6 for Apple Mail.

All of a sudden the send icon does not highlight (i.e. is inactive) and I cannot send any emails. I've tried various addresses. Nothing works. Any suggestions ? Thanks.

Specifically chef the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server settings in mail. Sounds like there is some issue with the settings...
