Not the argument that was posed. Read the context, the argument was about engineering, not returning the watch. Also, a non-issue now that Apple is allowing solo band returns....and these excuses have what to do with the fact that you have to return the entire watch?
Try again.
Using the expression "a very stupid idea" is a dead giveaway regarding the depth of analysis applied to this opinion. It is a very stupid idea for something that is worn all day on your body and is stretchable. I can't think of one thing that I own that stretches, that has maintained form.
Yeah, that was the first thing I thought about with these watch bands... They're going to get loose over time. Even my bands with lugs get looser over time. Doesn't help I'm not losing weight but I imagine that's actually helping me in this case (with band looseness). lol.
I still wouldn't mind one. I hate the silver pin under the Sports band when typing on a laptop - same for my Nike band. The Sports Loop is the most comfortable to type in when I do.

Let’s bookmark this.I get that people hold Apple to a higher standard, but I could have told you about this. This is necessarily a product that will not work over time.
I don’t get what you mean here. How is this band any more disposable than Apple’s other bands?
Let me explain: I want to give my dad my old Apple Watch. My dad wrist is thicker than mine, but it's ok, because he still can adjust all the bands I will give him with my old Apple Watch and he can use some of them for another year or two. You can't do that with this type of bands. You have to give them / sell them to somebody with almost similar wrists, which is of course possible, but the chance you will throw them away is much bigger in this case.
Simple as that.
Give the watch away without a band, or a $5 sport loop in their fave color from eBay. Keep the solo loop sized specifically for you for yourself. Simple as THAT!
How about they fix it so that if someone gets the wrong size band they can just exchange it without exchanging the whole watch?
That seems to be the biggest issue.
I stick to my opinion and I stress my opinion that it is a stupid idea. If they researched it so much, then why are they recalling watch bands and restructuring their measuring system? Its on the front page of this website. Its okay to not agree with people but attacking them for their opinion isn't helpful. Companies make terrible decisions and make mistakes. Its not only apple but all companies.Using the expression "a very stupid idea" is a dead giveaway regarding the depth of analysis applied to this opinion.
Apple has invested deeply in research into material sciences, and I can't imagine they took the decision to make a stretchable watch band lightly. They surely experimented with hundreds of formulations seeking the optimal blend of durability, comfort, and appearance.
A stretchable band will work for many customers, and it may turn out to be a pinnacle of simplicity and convenience. Slip it onto and off of your wrist in an instant, with absolutely no raised edges to catch on your cuff.
I, for one, am glad Apple is offering the Solo Loop as one option among it's many band offerings, and I will be purchasing one to swap out for less formal occasions when I'm not wearing my Space Black Link Bracelet.
YupAnother "GATE" is coming![]()
Yeah, right?Let’s bookmark this.
for $50A rubber band, that stretches over time? Well, duh.
This is a potato idea, not only to produce but to actually consider using it as a band.
Yea and there may be a chance that it might not stretch if it fits just right or a little loose, It will definitely stretch eventually if it is snugYou expect a stretchable material that never gets larger over time? Do you have a suggestion for such a material? I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist

No excuse. Just pointing out your blatant ignorance to what actually goes into designing a product.
Being an engineer myself, it's very tiring to hear a bunch of laymen constantly claim they could have done better, given their absolute lack of understanding of concepts. This is all engineers ever hear. I don't try to claim I could do your job better, don't do the same for me. This forum is absolutely ripe with this, especially with MacBook design. So many armchair engineers spouting sweet nothings.
You have to return the entire watch likely just due to the logistics of the scenario. You have to return an entire iMac 27" if you desire more RAM, yet you could easily remove it, send just that back and receive more. It's just logistics and bean counting.
"may" increase...damage control after poor engineering.
In my opinion, the solo loop is one of apples most disastrous decisions to date.
Why would anybody want this band anyways?
