Over the course of the last 10 years, the Apple Employee Giving donation program has raised more than $725 million for various organizations, Apple said today.

With the Employee Giving program, Apple workers can volunteer their time or donate money to a cause, and Apple matches the donation. Apple provides money for every hour an employee volunteers and matches monetary donations dollar for dollar.

The Employee Giving program is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and the $725 million that's been raised has been provided to 39,000 organizations around the world. Over 68,000 employees have logged close to two million volunteer hours since 2011, and more than $120 million was raised in 2021 alone.

In addition to the Employee Giving program, Apple has a Community Investment team that provides donations to nonprofit organizations worldwide, and the company donates through the Strengthen Local Communities grant program. Apple also regularly provides donations to communities impacted by natural disasters.

And now tell me how much the board of directors donated off their billions in bonuses.
Why don't you look them up for that?

I mean Cook implemented the matching program (one of the first things he did). Even if he didnt personally donate (which he does) he has made hundreds of millions of dollars available to charities. Jobs never thought of such a program to be worthwhile.

Of course $725 million is a lot of money. But considering it ***** more than that when it goes to the toilet, Apple made $20 billion profit in the last quarter, the donations are obscenely low. Seeing it in numbers, Apple can give more.

who knows what going on the the USA financially,
their "president du jour" promised cash to the tornado hit areas
while food carts are giving free food to the impaired there.
amazon will make tons of cash and these small businesses will be screwed.
 would never built an infrastructure or manufacturing plant there, or anywhere else.

Why don't you look them up for that?

So no information listed then

Why should Apple give $.01 They don't have to do anything, give anything, help anybody. That the company donates and the employees donates are awesome. $725M over the course of 10 years is amazing.

And that doesn't include Apple's corporate philanthropy donations outside of their employee matching program. Or TC's personal giving. I suspect other board members similarly give.

Is it? Put it in context. The yearly average is $72.5M given by their employees (that the claim matches for). Apple has 150k employees. That's under $500 per employee per year. That's not "amazing" in my book.

Sure, you have a variety of employees. Retail probably making under $50k a year, technical making a lot more than that and the C-suite people making millions in salary and options.

It’s amazing because apple and its employees had to contribute $0…yet they gave a lot. I don’t care what they earned that is a worthwhile sum in the aggregate that can make a difference. People that give to charitable causes should be thanked for their generosity, not their stinginess.

Unless one is talking about the eight levels of charity.

I somehow disbelieve that these donations by board members are ACTAULLY going to real charities that serve all other interests than their own coffers.
