You don't understand it. Only the newest models have perfect performance, all other models are garbage and you should definitely upgrade.

I would get the 14 Plus but I'd miss the ProMotion of my iPhone 13 PM.

Why would you downgrade? 14 has the same A15 that was in the 13 last year.

The sound I want from headphones/earbuds/ipods/etc. is not what I hear on stage while (playing?) in the band/orchestra/etc. I hope that feature can be disabled so I can get the sound of/from the hall/venue away from/facing the stage/performing area.
