One interesting thing is that the instruction and data caches on the m1 aren't the same size. I don't pay that much attention to this stuff anymore, but that seems something new. And it's odd that the instruction cache is bigger.
 
We’ll get real world results and benchmarks soon enough,
I know, it just seems like they're trying to sugarcoat less than stellar performance by not giving and hard stats on what they're comparing to or what the metrics actually are.
 
Well my macbook pro's (2017) laptop screen is messed up, it gets blurry lines after a few hours, they should do something about it.

CPUs typically have two levels of cache (L1 and L2). Some have an L0, though no x86 cpus that I’m aware of. And all also have internal register files, and various other memory structures (TLBs, etc.)
