With the periscope lens, I was thinking the 15 Pro Max was going to bump up in thickness a little bit, which it seems to have done, (at least according to the other article at 8.25mm now). I was surprised to see the 15 Pro also bump up to 8.25mm--wonder why that would be? Any chance we'll see the periscope lens on both models? My wife would love to have the new zoom, but really doesn't want a larger phone (women's pockets are ridiculous). I know it's all rumors until tomorrow, but thought maybe there's a chance given that both are increasing in thickness.

Anything is possible. My wife is in the same boat too. She’s considering the ProMax for the first time only because of the periscope lens. Hopefully the 6.1” gets it too, but maybe the extra thickness is just battery? There’s a significant number of people that would gladly take a slightly thicker phone for extra battery life, especially now considering the phone will be lighter overall due to the frame.

I was going to go ProMax, but I can't justify the extra $200 bucks for a phone I'm not totally sold on its size. Think I'll just go 15 Pro which will be a huge upgrade over my 12.

i’m just hoping if they increase the price in the US the same doesn’t follow in europe. 1.299€ and 1.449€ for the 14 pro and 14 pro max right now - any higher would be ridiculous.

Just picked up an iPhone 13 mini 👍 - RIP single-hand devices.
My son turns 13 in Oct. He is the last of his peers to not have a Phone. Literally the last. Honestly, I think he's a little scared about A) keeping up with/losing/breaking a phone and B) that he'll be sucked into the vortex that is the magic box. I think back to being 12/13... If I had access to the magic box, I'm not sure I would have made it out alive. As parents, we've been in zero rush to get that whole mess started, but it is looming. And birthday #13 is seeming like the moment (maybe Xmas). Was just discussing the iPhone 13 mini this morning and that maybe it was the device that would make the most sense for him. While there are cheaper, flip phones, that are pretty much only for calls and texting, I very much like the parent controls Apple offers (we use them to great success for a couple of iPads). That plus Apple Care for damage/loss and we may be going the route of the mini. Wonder if those will remain after tomorrow's announcement... As I'm likely to not make that type of purchase until closer to his b-day on 10/12.

I predict we’ll hear more about the new CarPlay. I think usb-c is needed to support all the multiple displays. Or maybe it’s wireless? Who knows.

I'm also getting a 15, but still need to keep a few for Air Pods, AppleTV remote, etc.

I replaced the remote as soon as i could and will be getting APP2 with USB-C as soon as i can. (To be fair, my APP1 are in really bad shape)

I get so annoyed by every device that doesn't use USB-C and makes me take out a different cable lol

I still have my old iPhone 5, and it's absolutely glorious how awesome that little thing was. I wonder if Apple made the specs & camera better, if these smaller phones would sell better? The only reason I didn't buy one is due to how low-spec they were.
IMO a smaller than iPhone 13 mini would sell even worse. The problem with the mini wasn't that it was still too big, it was that it offered poor battery life (especially the 12 mini relative to the other sizes). While some people do/did prefer the smaller size they weren't willing to give up the battery life, the better cameras, the better screens that some of the larger iPhones offer - which you alluded to yourself. Also at just $100 less than the regular size, you really would have to want the smaller screen (and again at least give up the better battery life) as there wasn't much savings.

The 8.25 mm is just the phone without the camera bump. Including bump, it will be much thicker.
