Samsung is not a threat. The only Samsung users I know either A) like the concept behind Apple's products, but insist on a cheaper alternative or B) strongly dislike Apple anything, and deliberately buy outside the Apple ecosystem out of principle. Apple is not losing them as customers, because they were never Apple's customers to have.

Apple needs to get this, and not worry about Ads that make both companies look insecure.

What about option C, Samsung actually makes phones that people want? Hard to believe right? You act if if Apple is Lord of the phones and Samsung users are just feeble minded peasants.

Samsung has never introduced anything to copy, period.

Larger screens.
Multi-tasking OS.
S-pen input.
Multiple app view.
Removable storage.
3GB ram.
Gear watch.

Two of those Apple will copy this fall.
The rest will take a couple of years.

to much generalization.

I went samsung for the Note II era for none of your reasons.
I WANTED an iPhone.

But i wanted a 4.5" or larger screen. at the time I wanted the digitizing stylus (nobody else had), and a few other features that the Note II ahd at the time that were unavailable from the iPhone.

Apple absolutely lost a chance to sell me an iPhone by insisting on telling me exactly what i wanted instead of giving me options.

I at the time was completely platform free... since I was coming from the Blackberry camp.

the simple fact is, Apple does not provide enouhg options to cover a wide range of wants and needs. While they were one of the only players in the game early on, They were lightyears ahead of everyone because of how well the iPhone did work. But when competition opened up and there was finally choice that was competitive from a device and platform side, Lots of people just opted to choose to go elsewhere instead.

Heck, I still use iTunes for my music purchases. I still use my iPod touch for my music player (when not using my phone). I have a Macbook air for my computer. I'm not apposed to any products that fill my needs.

Maybe Apple should just start innovating again.

Umm... why is it we expect this constantly from Apple but don't expect this from other companies?

Learn to wait and see rather than constantly expect.

It is entirely possible they have something up their sleeve that they can't announce and it's entirely possible that they don't.

Since you don't have any control over what they do, might as well shut up and watch.

Multitasking OS? Desktop computers had that many many years ago. A smart phone is computer so no surprise there.

S-pen input? Well, there was styluses, they just added buttons to it.

Removable storage? SD cards? Yea, feature phones had that :/

3gb ram? Again, just bringing desktop features to smartphones.

Gear watch? It's a fail and there were smart watches before Samsung.

In all seriousness, people have directly "chosen" features that exist on Samsung phones but none of those can be traced to Samsung first.

I enjoy making hand written notes.

Couldn't you have just gotten a third party stylus and an app that allows hand writing? I suppose it's not the same since the screen size would be smaller.

If these are the only Samsung users you know, then you need to get out more.

I think apple needs to focus advertising more on the international market then in the US. Apple has pretty much got the US on lock down. But in Europe and Asia not so much.

SO it took, what, a year for Apple to wake up and realize its advertising sucks?

Hey Mr. Cook, this is what happens when you delegate excellence.

NAH. Neither one of these features are something that would be considered "copying" especially the screen size. You do realize that cell phones and smartphones have come in multiple sizes for many years right? Try again.

Oh adding more ram? Oh yeah that would be an example of Apple copying Sammy because it's unheard of companies upgrading the default ram in their computers.

S-Pen???? Bahahahaha. Hell will be freezing over when Apple copies that.

Multiple app view.....hmmm.... Could've sworn I noticed Apple improving multitasking over the last few versions of iOS. Once again, that's not a feature that would be considered copying especially when Apple focuses heavily on multiple app view on their own Mac computers and their actively infusing both iOS and Mac OS together.
As I said, Try Again. Lol.

But the joke of the day is you are saying their advertising sucks yet Apple is the one with over $100 billion in the bank and you're on a forum gossiping about them while sitting there starring at the Mac Pro and MacBook Pro that you gave Apple money for. :p

The stylus on the note series isn't a simple capacitive stylus.

It features a wacom digitiser with 256 levels of pressure offering a much more precise writing pen.

At the time that's what I wanted in a phone

No Ad agency and money in the world will make any smartphone look better than the other if the phone is not really better.

Right now, iPhones aren't better than any flagship Android phones.

Someone's upset........

Its not a race to the finish Apple.

They just can't see someone else beating them..Maybe Apple should stop saying "we just out to make the best products..", because that's clearly not true anymore.

They can't weasel their way out of this one.

There's an unfortunate irony here. Beyond a certain point, the more Apple spend on Ads, the less fashionable they will be.

Maybe Apple should just start innovating again.

I would put the focus on quality control and the customer experience. Make AppleCare standard with every Mac purchase, and let the other companies sell the broken stuff that has to be returned and fixed etc etc.
