Apple Expands iPhone Driver's License Feature to 10th Location

I am surprised that Florida is not included in the list. Despite having the most popular individuals in the state, we did not receive this recognition.

I am surprised that IAD (Dulles) isn't on the pilot since the other two DC area airports are. I get how this is expanding so slowly because the only thing slower than users having to do something is for government.

I should plan to eat lunch at IAD May 7, 2025 just to listen to hordes of the passengers baffled and surprised that they need a REAL ID despite having almost 20 years to get it done.

The mobile app is not available in West Virginia yet. Our incompetent local news media reported that it was available but it is not. It only has a link to be notified when it is available. It's currently in beta testing.

It's interesting that it's on an airport-by-airport basis instead of TSA-wide. That implies some level of autonomy by each TSA division/region/whatever.

TSA precheck line at HNL overseas terminal has multiple signs saying they accept digital ID and the agent's station has a reader, but every time I've tried (3-4X) it doesn't work (and the agent usually says something before I scan like "you can try but it won't work"). My digital ID is a Hawaii DL . . .

How about putting Puerto Rico in the title of thread? That way, people who don’t live in said territory and aren’t looking for Puerto Rico, won’t be forced to click on the thread, because you put ‘location.’

Glad to see more states and territories getting the feature.
Tony Hinchcliffe? Tony is that you?

I wouldn't take my phone out my pocket with law enforcement around, let alone even tap it on a reader....and I haven't so much as been pulled over in over a decade and have no problem interacting with LEO.

I don't even carry my phone when leaving home sometimes.
I just take my rotary dial land line and my Newton with the latest software updates. It’s all I need ;)

I may be wrong but in California you're still required to have your physical drivers license with you while driving. Overall the number of agencies or businesses that accept a mobile drivers license is so minimal it's almost useless.
This seems to still be a very early-stage pilot program.
All states still require you to carry your physical drivers license. The digital license has limited use at this time
