It's a 24 month agreement, but you can upgrade every year.

True, but I think what he was getting at was financing over 12 months and keeping the phone. The annual upgrade option would require you to trade in the phone. While convenient (quite convenient actually), trading up at 12 months effectively reboots the financing, and you've traded in a phone that you've paid 50% of the value on (and at 1 year an iPhone likely has much more than 50% of it's original value). Brilliant plan by Apple really.

I don't understand who will use this, this is way worse than selling your iPhone to anyone else.

Not everyone is comfortable with selling their phone. It's fairly easy to get scammed or screwed by the seller site. Trading it in affords people the peace of mind and makes their lives easier. It's not for everyone but I'm glad it's an option.

I said -you-, not americans!
Can -I- still find this uninteresting without you assuming it's because I only want American news? I'm thinking 9to5mac is the way to go these days, as this global site of Apple (Global company) rumors and news is packed full of filler content these days. Enjoy your weekend.

so let me get this straight...

you essentially pay the new phone in full with instalment payment in 2 years. but then why do you have to also trade in your old phone??
[doublepost=1464404407][/doublepost]So, like the rest of us, you will have a brand new iPhone and no one else will be able to tell that we've been screwed. But still......a brand new iPhone, kingofwale!!

Sooner or later iPhone sales will begin to taper off. Apple's smart to get this program into as many markets as possible while people are still interested.

I agree that this should be offered in the UK, we're currently I am enslaved into a hell-bound contract with Vodafone, that not even the most nefarious of dark magic can break - 3 months left.
I would love to be part of this programme and then get a cheap £10-20 sim from gif gaff like many of my colleagues have, and seem to get faster 4g and better signal than my Vodafone red tariff.
Last week I was in WC1, EC1 and [outdoors] and stil experiencing poor signal, when the 'tech' support douche asked me to consider moving home for a better signal

You only have to trade in your old phone to upgrade to a new phone if you haven't paid 24 installments. You would trade in your phone for the upgrade after 12 months because you had only paid for half of the phone at that point.

What a deal!
In Italy you can buy an iPhone SE starting from € 509
Apple propose the instalment plan for a total of €482 and you have to trade in an iPhone 4s, but you can sell for at least €100 on eBay. The interest rate they ask is too high
