I'm guessing that the current lack of Warner, Fox, etc. etc. may be due to their support of the "Ultraviolet" Digital Copy system. If so, then that's extremely annoying. It's bad enough that many new BDs (e.g. from Warner) now use Ultraviolet for Digital Copies, but for it to also prevent existing Digital Copies from being available in iTunes in the Cloud is stupid.

Wait, what? Does this mean that, previously, if you bought a movie from iTunes you could only download it once? So if say you bought a movie and then your hard drive died, you'd have to re-purchase to get it back? That's insane.

As long as netflix offers unlimited streaming movies & tv shows for $8.00 a month, I don't see the attraction of "buying" one movie at a time for half that, & storing huge files...

This whole approach feels obsolete.

The movies I have bought in Canada are from Warner and Paramount and they do not appear. When looking them up in iTunes, they all say "When purchased, this movie will not be available from iTunes in the Cloud".

Nice.

I wonder what the hold up is getting this to Germany? Chances are those muppets at GEMA are blocking this because they want more money for the "artists" (i.e. the fat cars at the production companies).

Why do you think production companies have anything to do with where GEMA money goes? That is a totally different side of the business!
(Oh, and I think you meant "fat cats")

Universal movies are excluded also. Back to the Future states that

When purchased, this movie will not be available from iTunes in the Cloud

Well. What studios are included??

I've always steered away from piracy but all these politics really turn me off to getting my content legally. There are more restrictions and inconveniences to actually paying for your content than to just rip a DVD and be done with it.

1080 movies in UK

At last we are now getting some 1080 movie content in the uk

I've so far spotted Warhorse in 1080... C'mon apple push those studios for more 1080 content!!!

every movie I've looked at all says this!! I think very few are in the cloud. I hate movie studios.

Yes, it is getting ridiculous...I hope we will get iCloud for movies soon...

So far no movies showing up for me in the UK. I know I bought Hancock at some point. Only checked the iOS iTunes Store Purchased page do far.

Maybe this is slowly rolling out.

For some reason I still prefer buying the actual Blu-ray and then ripping and converting for home sharing. Something about actually physically owning the media :D

You don't have kids, do you. :) Netflix Kids section is a GodSend but my three year old will watch Cars and Cars 2 over and over and over again, neither which are available on Netflix anyway.

BTW here in Canada, only my Pixar movies are available for redownload.

I was looking forward to this for a while. Now that it is here, I am quite underwhelmed. I wonder why Apple even bothered to roll out such a useless feature. I just spent a few minutes browsing the Canadian store and didn't find a single film included in the dozen I browsed through at random.
