Apple Expected to Unveil Five All-New Products This Year

Didn't realize the glasses were so potentially "close" to release. That's obviously why Apple is also rumored to release a higher end AirPods Pro 3 (or 4) this year as well-- sounds like (pun intended) we'll need to buy the new AirPods Pro for full functionality of the glasses. Very modular if true.
 
WTF is the selling point of a "home hub" when you can already run that software on iPhones and iPads, which can also do everything else and live in your pocket instead of one spot in the house? It's even more redundant and obsolete than a landline phone.

Also, what's the selling point of a Macbook that cuts even more functionality from an already bare-bones model line but still costs more than the M1 Air? There's nothing to be gained from the A18 that would be more significant than literally any other features the Air would have to lose to justify the discount.

Thin and Light used to be premium features - so where's my 12" MBP with more than two ports and a nice screen? Extreme processing and graphics are not "premium" - they're necessary tools for specific use cases and meaningless expense for everything else. On the other hand, old screen tech, low-res webcams, poor speakers, and artificially handicapped functionality like external display support and USB 3-only ports are all decidedly Non-Premium.

If I'm ever going to spend a dime upgrading from my M1 Air, Apple needs to offer something that improves on its benefits to me - not just Apple themselves.

A while ago, someone mentioned "iPhone Duo". I like that name. It can go like the former Intel processors, Core 2 Duo. So, every foldable phone iteration can be called iPhone 2 Duo, iPhone 3 Duo, etc.

I had Google Glass. It was freaking AWESOME! Without a display any not-so-smart glasses are absolutely worthless.

I also think the iPhone Fold is going to be about as popular as the 17 air. It is the smallest display in a decade folded. Unfolded it is smaller than the smallest table also in the last decade. For this to be a success it MUST be at least as big as the current year Pro model folded. And the tablet mode has to be as good an experience as an iPad mini. This thing is neither.
 
"A Siri that can do more than just set alarms and countdown timers" - now that would be Apple’s most shocking new product ever. Actual, real artificial intelligence.

Because honestly, nothing else would even remotely excite me.

Get ready to pay $299 for the Apple doorbell and $29.99/mon for a subscription. Reality is that IF they were going to make such, they'd have to charge a massive premium to make it profitable. The market is already saturated and there's little they could bring to the table that's different.

This rumor is junk. Seriously, of all the home products, that's the one they'd decide to make? Something where they only sell 1 per household max? Not even cameras where you can sell them a dozen or more, have multiple levels of subscription service and more? Come on. Nothing about the rumor makes sense.
 
Waiting to see the AR glasses from Apple and the new products in home category including the new security camera. Have been waiting a long time for Apple's foldable however don't think I will buy the first generation version with rumors mentioning lack of telephoto lens and a smaller screen than what I was expecting.

Currently there are only like 2 doorbells available from "name brand" companies that are Homekit compatible, the ones from Belkin and Logitech. The Belkin doesn't support Homekit Secure Video, so that really only leaves the Logitech which is known to have overheating issues etc.

There are a couple others out there that can be made compatible by running hubs or other devices, running different software, etc, but that is not realistic for the majority of people.

All the others like Nest, Ring, Arlo, Blink want to run their own servers and platforms with their own subscriptions etc.

This is what has kept me from buying/installing one. Now that the Matter 1.5 standard has added smart cameras maybe we will start to see some more that will work, or some of the existing doorbells might get updates that make them work with Matter and then they will start to work with Homekit. Even if that happens they still probably won't support Homekit Secure Video because those companies want to sell their own subscriptions.

If Apple comes out with their own doorbell camera I will likely end up buying four or more if they are priced reasonably.

I’ve gotten so used to the convenience of FaceID. Not having that feature would feel like a significant downgrade to me. I guess Apple has to save FaceID for the second or third generation folding iPhone???
