Nope. Attaching a Logitech M720 mouse also caused a warning saying WiFi and Bluetooth might be impacted. Why, and how? Back button doesn't work, middle mouse click does nothing... I wasn't really surprised Apple didn't support features that don't exist on the Magic Mouse or Trackpad, but the experience was still subpar even for a first try.

Shouldn’t Logitech offer an app.? They had one. I think they pulled it m

Yeah, same here. I had the original Magic Mouse that I wasn't using, figured I'd try. Useless, no gestures, no scrolling, not even the ability to add a "right click" context menu.

I have a feeling the original Magic Trackpad will also be useless without gestures, because the Apple support document only makes reference to the Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2 as supporting gestures.

It's also not great with a good bluetooth mouse, like my MX Master 2, while you can program buttons, you can't set the forward/back buttons to perform their basic functions in a browser.

Can confirm the original Magic Trackpad is pretty annoyingly useless as well - can move around and use an uncomfortable amount of pressure to just about make it click but nothing else, no scrolling or right click etc

No scrolling / multitouch support for gen 1 Magic Mouse and Trackpad... For no reason besides selling actual models. This is why I started to loose my long term admiration for Apple and it’s products... basically since Tim took over. Sad.

And we know Apple will support old hardware, if it makes sense for them. Case in point Apple TV 3, that was basically abandoned in terms of updates, but lo and behold, 3 software updates to it since Apple TV+ service came out, in order to get the service on devices people already had.

Magic Mouse 1 versus Magic Mouse 2 differences are so minimal as to be ludicrous for Apple not to have full support under iPadOS. The Magic Trackpad 1 versus 2 might be trickier although the limited types of gestures in 13.4 seems like there is just not enough technical issues to prevent full support of the MM1 and MT1 in 13.4.

Having both a Magic Trackpad 1 & 2 the newer one just has pressure sensing, haptic feedback and a larger surface. Multi-touch capabilities are the same on both. Seeing as the iPad doesn't have pressure sensing and haptic feedback I can only imagine the reason for not supporting MT 1 being 💵

I am loathe to agree...I have 6 Magic Trackpad 1’s laying around (don’t ask) and before I sell them on Mercari or eBay, I wanted to repurpose at least one of them on my 2017 iPad Pro. My wife wants a Magic Mouse for her iPad Pro, of which I have a whole clan of Magic Mice 1’s scurrying around and only one legit MM2 from my 2019 iMac.

Apple giveth and then taketh awayeth and tell you to buyeth againeth. To which I say go screwest thyself, Apple.

Does anyone know if this is addressed in the next beta of iPad OS, or are they simply going to ignore this???
