I've had this keyboard for over eight years...today the Bluetooth connection randomly cuts out. It used to do this intermittently, now it's almost every 15 minutes. It'll drop out, then reestablish. Of course, it has a tendency to leave whatever key I was pressing when it dropped out repeating, so I get ten pages worth of returns, deleted text, etc. The Apple trackpad I have connected to the same computer (MBP core2duo) performs flawlessly, no connection dropping.

I've:
Changed batteries
Repaired permissions (long shot anyway)
Removed it from the BT Device list and set it up as a new device.

Is it new keyboard time? I can't stand the lack of a number pad on the new Apple Bluetooth keyboards...

It sounds like you've tried everything, so it's a good probability that it is time for a new keyboard. Look around, I've seen third party bluetooth keyboards with numberpad.
