Well worthy of a double post if you ask me... this was news to me. What a relief. I might not even buy applecare now, probably will though. Way to step it up Apple! I've already had one fail in the 7 months I've owned my Penryn, so this gives me some real peace of mind. Thank you Apple!🙂

I bought my MBP from ebay. I do not have the original receipt.

The manufacture date of the machine is known from the serial number so would Apple still honour this guarantee for my machine?

It should not matter if I have the receipt or not should it?

I don't think you need the original receipt. The serial number tells everything.
