Lol..... Their primary business has always been telecommunications gear, not phones, and it still is to this day.

And yet you characterise Erricson as a company which had no money and primarily made phones. Which of your categories do you fit into?

And I stated they were all but forgotten as a cell phone manufacturer.

It's hardly a household name since they are mainly a behind the scenes infrastructure company.

At what point did I express they were primarily a phone manufacturer?

Nah, you are back pedalling now. You were trying to imply they are completely irrelevant and desperately patent trolling for money:

And now that Ericsson is all but forgotten as a cell phone manufacturer, they are using what little cash they have left to try and take a bite out of Apple.

They are making a good profit each quarter - I don't think cash is a problem. They also happen to hold many of the fundamental mobile telephony patents because they were pioneering company in the field.

It's hardly a household name since they are mainly a behind the scenes infrastructure company.

Anyone over the age of 30 will have heard of Erricson. My kids won't have heard of the brand "Kodak" by the time they grow up, but that doesn't lessen their historical importance.

Not to mention they invented the technology and own the patents on it.
I love my iPhone but :apple: is wrong here

Yep, it's the same people who say Apple is justified in suing another company for making a rectangular phone with rows of icons but its not Ok for a pioneering company to sue Apple for their blatant use of patented technology based on inventions made by that company during the birth of mobile phones.
