I find it interesting that when I visit any EU (or is it just UK?) website, I get an alert asking permission for it to use cookies to track me. Is this really that different?

I like how random US websites now and then still load with some pathetic 'legal' excuse plastered over, because complying and adjusting their cookie settings would be a death knell.
 
That sounds more reasonable - the complaint being that Apple is deliberately presenting their tracking to users in positive terms, but third party tracking in negative terms, so a double-standard. Requiring the same text in the messaging would solve the issue.
I don’t think it’s reasonable to pretend that tracking across third party apps and personalized ads based on first party data are the same thing.

I don’t care if Wayfair shows me a sofa I might like based on a previous Wayfair purchase. I do care if that information is shared or sold to third parties.
