More concerned that Macs older than 5 years aren't supported on macOS Ace Ventura.
My 2012 Mac was supported for 7+ years.

Did you watch the keynote? This is far from a "minor" update. The neural processing alone for the text-to-speech improvements and pulling subjects out of photos is likely baked systemwide and would likely lead to such poor performance on older iPhones that they pulled it.There was no reason for this iOS 16 is such a minor update the same as iOS 15 so it could of run fine, there’s nothing major that needs more power
6 years is a pretty good run for just about any device, Android is the only comparison that can really be made.. What other platform can be compared, Windows Phone? Blackberry?? Palm???Android isn’t exactly a high bar comparison. If Apple actually cares about sustainability they should be supporting older hardware.
Hi, the phone still works on iOS 15.Spoken like a true Apple executive! Why? If the phone still works, and is capable, why should anyone be forced to upgrade? Not everyone needs the greatest and latest.
If the iPhone 7 still allows these users to text, review their social media, etc, then that's great.
It's actually a 2.5 year old iPhone - meaning, it was sold as new by Apple until September 10, 2019.I have zero sympathy for people complaining about 6 year old phone not getting an update. The 5th, 6th, and 7th gen ipad are all newer.

I’m not arguing Apple aren’t better than the competitors; there’s a reason all my tech is Apple. I’m arguing that it’s not good enough for a trillion dollar company to do something so environmentally unfriendly.6 years is a pretty good run for just about any device, Android is the only comparison that can really be made.. Security updates on old devices come out all the time. Next.security concerns.
They are still supporting it through security updates though. Even without the latest OS, the iPhone 7 will likely be functional for a few more years without major inconvenience. Some people here think that a device not supporting the latest release is automatically an obsolete product, but it will be as usable this fall as it is now.Android isn’t exactly a high bar comparison. Actually, those features would probably have to be dropped. I kinda think Apple just wanted to rip off the bandaid and have every iPhone on the current OS have Neural Engine support, instead of waiting a year for the iPhone 7 to roll off.Did you watch the keynote? What's the alternative? Support old phones and risk fruitless class action suits from people saying "Apple slowed my phone down?"

Apple can't support the hardware forever and the iPhone 7 is not going to suddenly stop working after iOS 16 is released.I’m not arguing Apple aren’t better than the competitors; there’s a reason all my tech is Apple. No, obviously not.Should I go and bitch to Honda that my recently purchased SUV won't support CarPlay 2.0?
