But these Intel Mac announcements are getting old already. What's going to be the features of the intel iBook? A IR remote maybe?! Front Row? Whoop-de-doo.
They may just slip stream the iBook without any annoncement. I think it will be more monumental, like a 13.3" screen, replacing both the 12" and the 14" iBook line.

Dream on Steve.

Yeah, if you had more money than sense...

Perhaps a 'cheaper' alternative (still expensive though).

The Mac-Mini pricing is odd. Apple has the chance to provide 'switchers' with a bargain basement Dell/Windows replacement box, nothing fancy, simply a nice small box, easy to setup/use, stable OS etc... At today's price increase it's now even more difficult for me to convince my in-Laws and parents to switch.

To me it appears a complete waste of processing hardware, money, to just hook up to a TV and leave in the living room. If Apple were to introduce an Airport-Express with audio/video/remote control, I'd probably spend some money and perhaps even sell off my Slimdevice.

At first I thought this was really exciting with the new Mac minis and all, but then it really hit me... integrated graphics? Jobs himself put down integrated graphics before, but now suddenly he is moving to it for the Mac mini? I can sort of understand that, being a low budget system and all. I just don't get why we went from an actual GPU to integrated graphics... hopefully this is changed in the near future. At least we got some pretty decent spec upgrades. The choice between Core Solo and Core Duo is a big plus. A max of 2 GB of memory is a God send; as is the four USB 2.0 ports. Front Row included... that's a very good thing. I just don't like how Apple suddenly bumped up the "bare bones" system a couple hundred dollars. The minimum config should still be $499 in my opinion. That was a big selling point. $599 isn't bad for what you get, but the previous price tag just looks so much better. And I don't quite agree with the $799 price tag of the Core Duo model. I understand it costs more money to build, but I think it would've been just fine at even $699.

So I don't know if I want the iMac fort the Mac mini now... I'm leaning more towards the iMac. It seems like a much better value, especially considering the higher specs and included display.

Why, Apple?! Why did you have to include integrated graphics? This is going to be frowned upon by so many tech sites, it's going to make the Mac mini look bad. The overall specs are very nice, I'll give it that... but why the graphics?!

Sorry, I tend to repeat myself pretty often.

sorry to be a bit of a party pooper but when did apple say that this event was going to have MAJOR new products. They said fun new products which made me think it was only going to be small products and thats what it was...

Another event thats been hugely over-hyped by rumour sites.

Yeah, the rumors do say that the iBook is going to be heavily redesigned.

But I want something new, not just redesigned ...

I'm stilll dreaming of a small tablet.

Again, when did anyone complain that the products announced weren't "major" enough?

The complaint is that $100 leather iPod cases are over priced.
That a $350 speaker system for an iPod is bizarre (and over-priced)
That the Intel Mac mini is poor in a critical area (graphics), and not better enough in other areas to make up for it.

It's not that the news wasn't important enough, it's that it was bad news.

(And, FWIW, I don't think anything announced today justified a press conference.)

Lemons; its a sign!

The ideas the engadget fans posted for the WWJD 3 were way more imaginative and fresh. This did not warrant a press conference. Judging by the post count I think that the faux iPod video garnered greater attention from the public. In hindsight Apple could have talked about their new iPod video with a fake keynote slide ps'd by one of their employee's and I would have been ecstatic! No re-designed powerbooks in January, a square box that you put an i-pod on top of and leather cases in February? Innovative? Blahnovative. Sorry to be the bad apple, but you need to hire some fresh thinkers and I'm not gonna stick around to see what pile of pooh you pour on us next.

Goodbye Mac Community. You're better than the object of your fanship.

So Much Negativity!

I think I was one of the few who found the new products pretty interesting.

Reading this forum, I find so many complaints, so many miserable people!

Really, the only complaint I have is about the coverage itself; I really loved the live coverage as provided by MacRumors, but what's with the Correspndent from "Valleywag"? I found his commentary a bit on the obnoxious/childish side.

Otherwise, I thought it was a pretty cool little event!
