All good additions to the Apple Fitness+ roster but I wish they’d include some exercise for the less able bodied.

Hoping the new strength workout has a feature for those who are chair bound.
I also would like more workouts for the elderly. How hard can it be to record a couple of extra workouts a week for these groups of people?

anybody still pays for that?, with the super fake smiling ultra optimistic automatons?.
It should be free with an Apple Watch for 1 year at least. And be less fake. And filmed like a class, not like a “movie”.
Just used in the pandemic and then switched to YouTube trainers. Much more relatable. Even the trainers don’t seem to enjoy the rigid format.

Finally a decent strength program, maybe I won’t need a Bodi subscription anymore .. now I hope it’s new workouts designed for the program and not just previous episodes tossed into a program.

I mostly disagree. I think it probably isn't enough for super high-end fitness (but is anything like this available at this price?).

I've used alternatives like Daily Burn, and the integration with the Apple ecosystem/watch and other devices for access, the quantity of content, and the ability to use it anywhere I have my phone or TV in the house is great. As part of the Apple One Deal, it's a fantastic bargain in my opinion when compared to the prices of Peloton or Daily Burn alternatives.
Apple is a weird place with fitness. I wish they would go more the route of Peloton and do daily live classes or several new classes a month. They are not producting higher quality stuff like Les Mills or BeachBody that is replayable over and over agian either.

And allow the fitness app to be installed on an iPad without having a watch tied to the account.
This wouldn’t be likely. Fitness+ is a service designed to support the sales of hardware. Fitness+ is good enough to use without a watch and still worth the money so I see your point. Unlikely though I think

what I want to see is Fitness+ in Vision Pro. Apple make a headband or some strap that holds the battery, and let me exercise in either the Fitness+ environment or bring the trainer into my space

Fitness plus needs to be turned into a VR experience like Supernatural for Vision Pro before I'd be interested in it.

I keep looking at Fitness+ once a year due to having it included in my AppleOne subscription. I do not get it: While I love Apple, I find the pretentious cheerfulness of Fitness+ repulsive. Strava, Garmin, and Nike got it right: They focus on exercise and improvement in a positive, but factual manner. Fitness+ feels complete fluff that I just cannot participate.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

My use case is equipment (treadmill - bike) with an iPad on them. It's find if your are the only one using the equipment. If you share the equipment with other family members everyone would need their own iPad if they want to track the workout on a watch. At least on the Apple TV you can select the user when staring Fitness Plus. If this can be done on the Apple TV they should be able to do it on an iPad.

This is hurting Fitness Plus subscription numbers. Apps like Peloton let you log in on a per user basis or multiple people can use the app without issue.

🙄. Yeah everyone wants a bored trainer having a bad day.

Great to see the breathwork being added as a regular practice. Was just talking to a friend who's a regular yoga user of Fitness+ about how important pranayama is in many types of social situations. Breathwork education can help the world be a little less reactive and a little more mindful.

Good to know about all the changes. But I am still waiting for the basic Fitness+ to be made available in my country. Disappointing to see that some Apple services take a long time to be available.

Nice. Just tried it out. Good that they’ve finally sorted this but I think it could be massively improved over time.

For starters, a brief explanation of what the, for example, treadmill run actually entailed. Speed pushes, hills, etc.

Also, a better way of presenting pace so it doesn’t just look like you’ve run a really slow 30 mins when you’ve actually been doing all out intervals with easy recoveries.

I'm stoked about these additions.

Yeah other services have good content too, but the integration with my Apple gear makes Apple Fitness+ a no-brainer. Wouldn't mind seeing them also add some more modifiers to keep accessibility high for the remaining 20% of their audience. For the 80%, right now its great and I hope they keep making it better.

Just used it for the first time importing a strength workout (Ep 127 with Gregg Apple). This is cool.

Interestingly doesn’t pull the exertion score, both Apple and Strava use a 1-10 scale.

I agree to a point but I can certainly participate. The cheerfulness is currently at a 10, I need them at a 6-7. It’s at its worst when there’re 3 trainers on screen interacting; better with just one trainer doing a cooldown or meditation.

Yoga is good, but they need functional mobility routines; Fitness+ is feeling way behind the curve on that.

I was surprised to find out the other day that if using Apple Fitness on AppleTV two people can not connect and show their heart rates from their Apple Watches. I thought this functionality would be possible after all these years.
