Can't believe that people are voting this as negative on the front page. Must be the same people who'd cry and bitch if the exploit was used for nefarious reasons.

It could be people voting it down because they own a now unsupported device (1st gen iPT) that works perfectly fine, but has now been abandoned by Apple and has a security hole that could end up being serious.

My iPT works great, battery is wonderful, and it suits my needs. Why should I go spend another $300 less than 3 years later so I can have a security fix?

You know, the only reason they released this is because of all the jailbroken demo models at their stores, and the Geniuses are tired of having to restore each of them everyday. :)

Looking to see if this will fix the proximity sensor bug as well...

I love my iPhone4, I really do. I have no problems with dropped calls at all. However, I have hung up on many calls due to the proximity sensor not working well. Hope 4.1 fixes it soon!

Fix The Proximity Sensor!

will they PLEASE fix the proximity sensor already?!?!

i'm sick of cheek dialing and hanging up on people.

my 3G never had this issue!

Everyone who doesn't upgrade deserve whatever happens next in regards to this vulnerability. Remote root exploits should be plugged ASAP by anyone who values their computing experience.

Next ? If I was in the process of writing malicious code, I'd be thrilled jailbreakme.com put such a stigma around fixing this one. Look at this thread... All the work is already done, all that it needs now is a nasty payload.

The hole is much more than a jailbreaking hole. It's a "run whatever we want on your phone without you knowing" hole. That it happened to be used for jailbreaking is a side issue.

What is more important than a Remote Root vulnerability that has exploit code out in the wild ? I seriously hope you're not even near being in charge of computers where you work.

We get it lol
