This made me laugh.

Just today, I was typing away, when suddenly a bloody popup window asked me if I wanted to turn on dictation. Just bugger off, Apple. I don't want your foul news, I don't want your cynical music subscription, I don't want your spam forced down my throat.

I wish Donald Trump was CEO of Apple. He'd be a darn sight better than Cook.

This is what I like about Apple, they take these things seriously and patch quickly, I'm sure if it was Android it would have taken much longer to patch. Apple's # 1 importance is customer's privacy. Good job Apple!!
This was a server side fix not a software update to iOS. If Google had a server side issue like this, you'd better bet they'd have had it resolved ASAP.

try google.

example http://krebsonsecurity.com/2011/11/apple-took-3-years-to-fix-finfisher-trojan-hole/

Look, Apple is far from the quickest to patch......speaking from experience.

Also the concept that Google takes forever, its total nonsense.

Watch out, you're being too logical and not fanboying here ;)

The concept that Google takes forever is absolute nonsense. Google usually resolves security holes ASAP. The main issue with Android isn't Google, but rather the fact that OEM's don't push the fixes down.

It is hard to understand why you bother having Apple products.

So, no fixes. See?

Quite honestly I'm not surprised at the speed which Apple plugged this on the server side. Yes - it's great that they did it with such speed. But I think the greater impetus was the fact that they have recently been in the news and touting their stance on security/privacy in regards to the whole FBI case. It wouldn't look exactly great from a PR standpoint if they hadn't immediately corrected this.

Siri is as attractive to me as FaceBook or Microsoft.

I would love an iPhone that didn't support it.
You and I share the same distain for Siri.

By far the most fake amongst the digital assistance group, Apple's highly refined smoke and mirrors deception has a shockingly huge group of users believing Siri is far smarter than "she" is. Preprogrammed to utter certain cutesy responses for sheer entertainment, I find Siri highly annoying.

Siri's witty responses get old within 2 minutes and annoy the hell out of me anytime after. I have zero use for personality when using a digital assistant. If I'm using a digital assistant it's because I want information and Google Now is much better at providing me what I want (Not even considering that Google's voice recognition is light years ahead of Siri's).

Even now that I'm on iOS and enjoying it, the main thing I miss about Android was Google Now's integration into the OS and the voice dictation which was actually accurate.

Why not? The phone works, does everything I want it to. I have Siri turned off, 3D Touch set to minimum (pity no way to turn it off fully), don't need Night Shift or any of the other features 9.3 brings. 9.2 works, so why change it?

Security & vulnerability updates.

Still, it's only your data at risk. No biggie, right?

If you have Nexus phones the fixes are out ASAP. If there was an issue on a Google server the fixes would be almost immediate.

1) not true at all. Support on Nexuses is 1.5 to 2 years maximum then you're left in the cold
2) I don't want a ****** Nexus

During the supported time you do get the updates just like during the supported time with an iPhone Apple will provide updates

It's a good thing you have free will and choice, don't like Apple get a different device. If you have such an issue with Apple why are you posting on an Apple rumor site?

You must have caught the microphone button next to the space bar which is there by default and will ask you if you want to enable dictation if you press it (or start dictation if you have it enabled).

If you go into keyboard settings and turn dictation on then off, the microphone will disappear and also make the space bar bigger

I have already turned dictation off a long time ago; I have no microphone button.

Yet still Apple pestered me about turning on dictation. This is what I mean about forcing their spam down our throats. It's the same lousy mentality as that which produced the U2 album which we couldn't delete until Apple were shamed into it, and the Apple Music ad window which popped up and disabled all functionality in the music app against our wishes. These things are a direct result of Tim Cook being CEO, and until Cook is fired or has to leave Apple, they will keep happening, much to the misery of we poor people.

But you haven’t left the platform have you. What’s with your Stockholm Syndrome anyway?

At this point one must assume that you are desperate for attention...
Look... is everything ok with you, man?
You don't HAVE to go for all the negative attention. Tell papa Tycho your troubles!
He'll listen... we don't have to infuriate others by dredging up & name dropping the current "most hated" man on earth.
It'll be ok.

You've got some issues, man.

Yeah, only difference Apple will support it for 4, 5 years instead 1.5 or 2 max. AND some bugs get squashed vey late even in new Nexus phones.

There is NO COMPARISON with the level of support Apple provides.

Sour grapes from you. Spreading FUD reveals your lack of awareness when it comes to Android circa 2016.

Nexus smartphones have improved dramatically over the last three years. My ongoing personal experiences with every new Nexus model and Android version since 2007, reveals the many advantages of the current Nexus 5X and 6P models. Smartphones that are wicked fast, super accurate and simply delightful to own.

Apples #1 priority is how much more can they make.

Is it true that due to Team Mobiles poor service; Sprint will purchase Team Mobile for .20 cents on the dollar on 4-6-2016?
T-Mobile? And no, Sprint most likely would be BOUGHT. Not the other way around. Sprint is piss poor in all aspects.

Have you ever used an Android device??
Yes, for many years. Not sure what your point is because there isn't no spam on Android. And if you are referring to ads in games, etc, I get them just as much as Android did. So again, what is your point?
