Soon after the iBookstore launch, some posters on this forum noticed formatting errors in a small percentage of the books. In truth, the books had no formatting. An entire 400 page novel would be crammed together in 70 pages without paragraph stops or page breaks. I noticed this with Frank Herbert's books and contacted Apple who reversed the charge and removed the books from the store.

Today, the three Frank Herbert books I found with formatting issues have returned to the store now fully formatted. I have been checking for them every couple days. Also, even though Apple previously refunded me the cost of the books and I noticed the books disappear from the my previously purchased section of iBooks, I was able to redownload them free.

This may not seem like a post worthy of attention. However, I thought that other people who found similar issues might want to check if their books were also fixed too.

Thanks for the relay and staying on top of it. Now, if we could get them to stock more titles in the store ... ;-)

I had the same problem with a book that I had purchased. Received this email yesterday. However, the book wasn't incomplete just mushed together.

    Dear ,

Thank you for downloading the book Nightkeepers. You may have noticed that this book was incomplete. We wanted to let you know that we have fixed the issue and you can download this title again, free of charge.

Before you can download again, you'll need to delete the book from your iPad using the following steps.

    1. Tap iBooks on your iPad
    2. Tap Edit in the upper-right corner
    3. Tap the X next to Nightkeepers
    4. Tap Delete to confirm and then Done in the upper-right corner.

Next, redownload the book from the iBookstore. Follow these steps.

    1. Tap Store in the upper-left corner of iBooks
    2. Tap Purchases along the bottom of the screen
    3. Find the title you just deleted and tap Redownload. If prompted, enter your password and tap OK.
Note: your purchases are listed in alphabetical order and may be listed across several pages.

    Sincerely,

    iTunes Store Team
