I'm hoping to copy some data from flash storage that was in a 2015 MacBook Pro. Actually want to copy some data and attempt to erase the whole drive as I keep getting an error when trying the same when booting from recovering.

I understand the pin layout on the flash storage used in Macs from 2013 forward is a custom one by Apple, so usual PCI-e m.2 storage to SATA adapters won't work.

I have come across one from OWC, though it's $100: https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MAU3ENPRPCI/

Any other options or suggestions?

Thanks!

I have been looking into this for my 2012 rMBP and have found nothing other than the OWC enclosure.
So I will be following this as well

Wasn't aware of all these different types of m.2 PCIe SSDs. Looks like the Apple custom ones were used from ~2010 to 2012, and then they started with a new Apple custom connector from 2013 to present.
