You're getting excited about something you know nothing about? Life just isn't doing it for you, then.

He's hopeful and dreaming of what things can or might be. You can't seriously think that equates to life not doing it for him. Dreamers, those with hope, I would bet have very full and rewarding lives.

Hahahahahahahahaha I'm sorry that I don't have a life like yours # but was just my opinion. My apologies if I have upset you in any way. I'm just a student, I don't have much to look foward to besides passing.

You have your whole life to look forward to. ;)

Don't forget to enjoy the present.

Love the mock-ups. Since those type of bands are popular/accepted, if form factor can remain similar to Nike Fuelband this would be a big hit. I would probably buy it, but would honestly prefer a more watch look.

i agree. can't really wear that on a night out or in a professional environment. would prefer to have a traditional watch look with bands you can switch out, like any other watch.

In regard to a more watch look, no way! This is exactly what i want/expected. And please, by some miracle, make it waterproof.

This design concept is perfect for a ladies wrist watch for sure. I'd like to see a thicker band for a mens version. Wide enough to be a little more masculine.

i dont understand those "concepts" random people make based on rumors and become "news". u might as well make one with a toaster and pancake maker built in

Seriously this. If it was waterproof, I would be first in line. As a swimmer I would love to keep track of my activity. This would be incredible if I could use in the water.

Anyone else starting to get the impression this whole iWatch thing is just Tim Cook's wet dream device because he's a health nut??

I never said they were the first.

I know that... I was simply adding to your comment that apple didn't invent the mp3 player they just made it better. They looked at what was wrong and made it better. They aren't rushing it to the market and it being a POS, instead they are taking their time on it and working out all the kinks so it becomes another great apple product.

What I wonder is they are still hiring people for a product that is supposedly set to be on our wrists THIS YEAR. Either the first generation iWatch is going to be a barebones product or the project will be pushed to 2015...

Personally, I'm all up for an iWatch if it indeed sports all the health monitoring features, but I would likely wait for the second gen for all the bugs to iron out. Look how far the first gen iPad got....

What warrants this conclusion? Product design and evolution is not something that is a "star-stop" process but a constantly evolving and maturing process. v1 may have x number of features while v2 may add to these features and build new ones along the way. iPod, iPhone and iPad lines have constantly evolved with time with features getting mature and new ones being added with time. I don't expect the iWatch to be any different.

I hope the fitness elements go beyond just walking and running. There's plenty of health bands that cater to those.

Many hires we find today took place an year ago or earlier.

Ah, right. I misread that, my mistake.

Those are some seriously cool artistic mockups.

Seriously. I'd really consider no longer wearing a traditional watch if they put something like that out. As it stands now, I wear a watch on one wrist and just can't get excited about slapping a single purpose "fitness" band on the other wrist.

If they are just now hiring QA type positions, I would take that to mean it won't be released until next year (yes, despite Cook's comments last year). They're going to get these newly hired-s to get iWatch up to snuff in < 10 months? I doubt that.
I love how everyone says this lol. Like people don't know that Apple releases upgraded iOS devices yearly, just as this device will be updated yearly. If you think there won't be future sensors and tech in this device years down the road you are 100% wrong. They could and will implement features like this in future years, after extensive testing.

Perhaps they could invent something that encourages people to consume less calories than they use, without the need to permanently damage their knees.

Calories are hardly the problem. It is far more what you are consuming than how many calories you are consuming. If they could implement that knowledge into it so the ignorant could become ever so slightly more educated on proper nutrition, then they could make an impacts. Excercise has been shown in numerous studies (including an identical twin study) to have little impact on weight management. It is very individualized, and proper nutrition is and always will be far far more effective at weight management than exercise. It's about 80-90% what you eat, and 10-20% exercise (if that). If you are running on a treadmill without changing the foods you consume, there is no hope for you.
