Due to the "Buddhism Calendar" bug found in Apple Watch since earlier this month that causes the Apple Watch to keep rebooting all the time.
So I sent my spare S0 Stainless Steel to Apple Service Provider near my place.
After 2 weeks of waiting, Apple replaced my super-slow S0 SS watch with the Series 2
I'm so happy and satisfied with the service :)

I received the same replacement in August of last year, but it was because I broke my S0 by dropping it on the bathroom floor (cracked the ceramic back).

Although Apple Support agreed to let me use my AC+ reduced repair fee (I was also one day out of AC+ warranty), the service center refused to repair it. My store gave me a new steel S2 because, in their words, "Because we promised you a working watch, and two weeks is a long time to wait, we'll give you a new steel Series 2." They even added two years of AC+ -- at no charge -- to the new S2.

There has been happening more frequently with Apple replacing first Generation Apple Watches with a Series One or Series 2. Partially because they may not have enough inventory of the first Gen Watches as refurbished. But the Series 2 is a nice upgrade with the brighter display, GPS and 50 M water resistance.

The fact that they gave you AppleCare+ to your new watch even your old watch’s warranty just expired is amazing!
I wish we’d have our own Apple Store in Thailand soon. Service providers are good but there’s too many boundaries for them to make such decisions on their own.

I sold a band to a fellow that said Apple sent him a series 2 Hermes when he used his AppleCare on his Series 0 Hermes. He said they were out of Series 0. So maybe it’s series 2 for everyone now that’s great news!

The replacement for my Aluminium S0 (battery dying) watch will arrive today.
According to the s/n tracker, it's an S1!

Apple seems to replace all S0 watches with the appropriate higher version S1/S2 consistently now.
Very good customer support!

@OP: It's great your AC+ coverage was extended for free!

It's been a while, but when I sent my Original iPad back for dust under the glass, they sent me a wrong iPad as replacement (less storage), and it took quite some time to get this resolved (it seems there hadn't been a process in place for such mixups), they charged my credit card in error, had to book it back and so on. Quite a hassle for both parties.

In the end, they sent me a free Time Capsule as make-good.
This TC is still working perfectly, and I still like to tell the tale, after so many years :)

I hear the official store is coming soon to Thailand. I hate authorized resellers over there.

My S0 watch is still going strong, well, I should say slowly strong. It is slow as Christmas, but still technically working as intended. I would love to get a new S3 so that I can participate in the heart study dealing with Afib (my mother has it, I'm at high risk)... but I haven't been willing to come off the money yet.

Same for me. I think because most of the resellers want to hire with the lowest wage, so they don't really care if the sales person really know what they're doing.
Thank god at least we have Apple Online Store with decent sales policies, all of the resellers won't allow any return at all even the products itself have some kind of problems.

The only real tech Store in my area is Best Buy, and I'm amazed at how all the employees have so little knowledge about the Apple Watch except for size recommendations and basic capabilities. I know I'm somebody that studies tech a lot, but it's rather pathetic if they want to sell a product to a customer, at least have general knowledge about it.

Did you get this replaced under Apple care? Or did you just send it in for a battery service?

Great service!

I suspect it costs them about the same in material cost (retail cost obviously more).

Wonder what happen if I send in my S0 for battery replacement without Apple Care. Am I getting the same S0 just with battery replaced? lol

Was wondering the same. Sadly, as far as Apple support is concerned, my S0's battery after 2+ years use is still A-okay despite noticeable degradation so the service fee would be practically the price of a brand new S1.

Just hoping the back falls off now.

Could probably resell that and buy an S3 with cash leftover lol

If it's not repair related as in replacing the display or or backing, Apple may just replace the battery at their Watch depot and send it back to you if that's all it needs is a battery replacement. Other have sent their First Gen Watches in for a battery replacement with AppleCare and Apple sent the exact same Watch back with a new battery.

Arrrghhhh I guess I will wait for S4. I am hoping for a new design.
