Apple Getting Closer to Launching iPhone in South Korea?

This is the best news i've heard in a long time. i'd already have had a previous gen iphone if it were possible to get them working in south korea.

will the new iphone have the parts to get it working in s. korea? if so it doesn't really matter whether or not it is coming here officially.

South Korea has a GSM signal so using the original iPhone there shouldn't be an issue.

I'm moving to South Korea early next year and I'm probably getting an iPhone 3G for xmas.

Will it work in Kwangju South Korea?

Pros? Cons?

Should I just get a different gift?
