So did anyone else get more credit from Apple than quoted? I was quoted 790 for my 12 pro max and I walked out with an instant credit of 848.48

Works for me.
Yea I'm totally confused. Somehow got a $48 or so gift card plus I don't know what ever happened to the tax charges. They were pending when I ordered our iPhones, and then the holds dropped a day or so before pickup day, and they still haven't shown up after picking up. One of the employees said there was some discussion about it internally at the store but she didn't hear the whole thing. I also read something about it shows on the carrier bill, but no extra charges show on the next Verizon bill except upgrade fees.

I didn’t realize we got sales tax back from the trade in. I checked my receipt from yesterday and noticed I was only charged sales tax for the difference between the new phone price and the trade in.

So hold up, when you trade in your iphone you get a tax (credit?) like my iPhone 12 credit is 530 I should then get 567.10? (7% FL)?

Yes, but you can't process the mail-in trade in from the store. You need to process a mail-in trade in online.
Not true. I had a mail in kit that hasn’t arrived yet. I went it..explained to them and was out in 5 min with my credit

I just came back from the apple store, did a trade in for 12 pro max, got $790 total, no tax.
That’s where I was confused. That’s what I should have gotten. I believe I got some new guy that didn’t know what he was doing and acted as if I was returning the phone and not trading it in

I took it to my local store. I was in and out in 5 min and the credit hit my bank immediately
The Apple representative that helped me gave me a $785.00 gift card for the iphone 12 pro max trade in for the iphone 13 pro max purchase on 9/24/2021 instead of crediting my credit card. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Did you pay by credit card or gift card?

Tax treatment, may depend on the State where the trade in takes place. Both my trades for iPad and iPhone did not add the tax in California.
