So I ordered my 13 mini straight up from Apple's app... I didn't select trade-in for my 12 Mini as I was planning to sell it outright. If I wanted to trade it in after the fact, is that even an option? To say, give it to them and get the trade-in value credited to the same credit card I used to buy the 13 mini?

That would be last resort- the listed trade-in value for it is lower than what I see people selling for on OfferUp and Craigslist, but just was curious.

The weird thing for us is we got the tax on a gift card, but I also see no charges for the tax from the installment plans. They were pending when I placed the order, and they disappeared shortly before pick up day, but they never posted.

Oops nm. I didn't see them because I thought they would be dated the 24th, but they posted with the same date the pending charges were of the 17th.

The Apple representative that helped me gave me a $785.00 gift card for the iphone 12 pro max trade in for the iphone 13 pro max purchase on 9/24/2021 instead of crediting my credit card. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
Oh no! so your credit card was charged the entire amount?! The entire transaction wasn’t done all at once? They should have applied that gift card to the purchase of the new phone.

I also got a “refund” when i did my store pickup. I asked what it was and the employee said “I don’t know” 🙄. Very helpful. I assumed it was tax given the amount.

PA 6% Tax added back, I was actually shocked with this.

I know some states, stores won't add the tax back. I am so sorry, that's just a sick joke.

I would go back and state this! My receipt of trade in does state that - as an option and IF you choose it.
If the Apple employee gave no other option, well that's incorrect.

It's a bit odd the GC is lower than actual money, but that is the other option, a better option.
You should get that $ back to your account.

This was on the receipt, I did not choose gift card - but $790.00 (including tax) back to my original CC.

So you took your phone to an Apple Store and you mailed it in from there? Did you read my post?
I read your post. I didn’t give it to them I traded it at the store. Wasn’t aware quotes were different from online to in person. No reason to be a prick

THIS is REAL $ value for trade-ins Bonus to the op for sharing this.

Curious if this is only in the USA I've never traded in my iphone as an upgrade before - always sold it locally over kijiji. this year I've got no time for adolescent or adolescent-minded adults low-balling on several accounts.

Went to Apple store. After much discussion, they gave me $785.00 cash for the gift card. Problem solved.

Went to Apple Store tonight, 9/28. After discussion, they gave me $785.00 cash for the gift card. They apologized for not giving me the option to credit my purchase on my credit card or taking a gift card.
