As an AAPL shareholder, I applaud this.
A more cynical (but eminently logical) view is that by keeping potentially infected workers home, they’re preventing their entire staff from being infected, too. (As an American living in Europe, it’s curious that European employers generally take that view on staying home sick, in contrast with typical American employers who expect you at work unless you’re dead or in the hospital.)
On the whole, Apple treats its employees well.Wow. That’s so charitable of them.

I’m a former fruit stand employee. Believe me, we were cleaning those things constantly. But when you have a Wetzel’s Pretzels kiosk a few steps outside the store, people are forever coming in with literally greasy fingers and fondling the machines. A truly Sisyphean task.Apple should have been cleaning those nasty, greasy, in-store devices this frequently all along
If odor is an issue, a) make sure to mention it to management, and b) ask if there’s a regional manager you can talk to, to make sure that person knows that the store manager has been trying, and so they can put pressure on the mall. (Ventilation is generally provided by the mall, not the store itself.)Every time i go to an apple store, stinks! anyone else experienced that smell? Is like sweat mixed with urine if i had to guess lol But good for apple doing that, Im sure is only for the salary people and not the hourly. but if it is the hourly people, kudos for Apple.
