Soon as in 2020 or even later. Until you can put prescription lenses in them, they're useless to a large majority of the population. The mock up looks far better than Microsoft's Hololens. If Apple can get this to work in that small of a footprint with good battery life. I would imagine there would be drastic changes in their future Watch tech with the possibility of even getting rid of the awful camera bump that is plaguing all of their iOS devices.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is what they are going for especially with FaceID with the X supposedly being the future. You are correct, the key will be prescription lenses. I mean Apple has watches, phones, why not glasses. Would it be safer to be able to look at your phone through glasses instead of actually looking at your phone. This will be interesting.
