...And you won't hear it being mentioned anywhere, either. It's not public information.

That would make Apple a public liar, which is unlikely over something like this.

Phil Schiller himself bragged about the Stainless Steel logo on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus during their intro:

"I am honored to represent the whole team and be the one to tell you about these incredible new iPhones. Their design is like nothing ever before. Incredibly unique, from the glass front, the curves around the side to meet seamlessly with the anodized aluminum back, complete with stainless steel Apple (logo), it is truly the most beautiful phone you have ever seen."

I was hoping they would kill of the homebutton all together. And put the fingerprint sensor beneath the screen.
The home button serves to limit the speed and efficiency of an iPhone user. Due to its reciprocal motion there's a limit how fast one can go.

It's especially noticeable after I've been using my lightning fast Nexus 6P that uses a modern digital "button" which is impervious to liquids, dust and debris, another big advantage over Apple's ancient analog/mechanical button.

What's laughable is just a mere few millimeters above the old button is Apple's digital touch screen. What an ironic contrast of Technology.

Those who enjoy modern, all touch, Android Smartphones know what I'm talking about. Why Apple would slow down the user and get a pass from its zealous users is proof of how much power Apple holds over the faithful.
