The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC) has issued new certificates for Apple products that suggest the company is set to release wireless earphones and multiple new versions of Apple Watch alongside the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

Manufacturers are required to certify electronic devices for sale in countries that are signed up to the EAEC treaty (ratified last year), which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Armenia. Russian website iPhones.ru found a reference to "AirPods" along with other Apple certificates added to the regulatory body's digital products registry yesterday.

Last month, MacRumors revealed that an "AirPods" trademark filing discovered last October seemingly confirmed Apple's work on upcoming wireless earphones in lieu of a headphone jack on the iPhone 7. This latest regulatory certification appears to cement that finding, although whether Apple plans to bundle the AirPods with its new phones or sell them exclusively as a separate accessory is still unclear.

Elsewhere, the documents list several new certificates for Apple Watch (although oddly these are labelled as running watchOS 2, not watchOS 3, as would be expected for new models) and two certificates for products running iOS 10, likely indicating Apple's upcoming iPhone 7 and 7 Plus expected to be announced in a special event next week.

Apple may use the same event to debut its second-generation Apple Watch, said to include better waterproofing, better battery life, an improved processor, and a built-in GPS chip - but no cellular. Design changes are not expected for the next-generation Apple Watch, but new materials and new bands are always a possibility.

I do wonder what the team at Apple feel when little secret tid bits make their way out in the world through filings like these.

There's a surprise waiting for Bragi Dash.

My guess is they'll announce a new or revised product that'll go on sale near the release of the iPhone 7. I can't see nothing happening between them. Apple surely wouldn't allow Bragi to unveil news before their event.

I would think they expect that to happen once they file for patents and certificates, even when they do it under false company names.

I really hope we see wireless earbuds this year. It'd make a lot of people happy and make up for the fact there's no headphone jack.

They probably think it's inevitable, and that most people still won't know. After all, none of my friends would read rumours like these, or even find it that interesting if I told them directly.

A tangible new product from Apple they can read about on Apple.com or see in store? That's a different matter.

This isn't surprising, Apple have got to offer a solution to the removal of the headphone jack. They will likely offer the "Airpods" as a premium accessory, i can also see the technology used in them being linked to Beats, after all Apple own them. It wouldn't surprise me to also see a new range of Beats announced, separately from the Apple event tho.

If they remove the headphones jack, the only decision that makes sense in a philosophical way is to cut with the past (pun intended) and go completely wireless.

Airpods will be included, while the upsell option will be a revamped line of Beats wireless devices, with a male Lightning charging port.

Color me completely disappointed if the default earbuds are wired (Lightning). That's not a signal of change.

I agree. But the thing for me is, this will be an expensive Fall as it is with all the potential hardware releases and if Apple does release a set of Bluetooth EarPods, my guess it will be the range of $150.00-$200.000 for a pair.

It all depends on the quality and are they for me overall. It's always the accessories that I never account for that add up.

If the AirPods have a wire connecting the two sides, it's already behind in technology. I'd expect them to be.

Yes. They have been in the works for years now so if they're ready to be released, they're ready to be released. Hopefully they've cracked creating a custom Bluetooth chip to power these things and we get good battery life out of them. What's good battery life for wireless earphones? 8+ hours? I'm guessing it'll have around that.

While I'm not confident that Apple will include a pair of wireless "Airpods" with new phones, it would certainly go a long way to assuage all the butthurt about removing the jack.

idk.. I think they SHOULD be included. They will probably be of lesser quality or otherwise, why would anyone purchase Powerbeats wireless to go with their phones? At the price point some of us are expecting (if sold separately) one might as well buy the beats.

Apple wouldn't include wireless earbuds in the box considering they'll probably cost around £150-£200. Expect Lightning connected EarPods in the box and their AirPods to be sold separately.

They ought to include a bluetooth version of EarPods with the new iPhone, and name it AirPods makes sense.

Ooo, I'd like to see the list of false company names!

True, I keep forgetting how specific this website is.

this makes perfect sense. I wonder if this one of the reasons they brought Beats? if they have been working on these for a few years, they would of known in advance. If they are really good, i wont mind paying £150-£200 for them alongside an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus.

Beats bluetooth earbuds cost that much.
A decent pair of bluetooth headphones shouldn't be expensive.
I use EarPods a lot for making phone calls, but they suck at playing music. They could provide a similar experience with bluetooth EarPods, many customers will use them to make calls and buy more expensive headphones (either bluetooth or lighting) for enjoying music.

Yes but Apple own Beats, who's to say they wont brand them under the Beats name? or maybe they will be a part of a new Beats range.
