Can't believe something like this is allowed.
Straight up ugly and not even a reset fixes it.
At least any android I've owned never had this.
Embarrassed.

I've had that happen a couple of times. Closing the app fixes it.

I have only had that happen in apps that were not optimized for iOS 8, for instance YouTube before they updated the app (which now has rotation issues, thanks Google!). I have not seen it in any app that is optimized, including built in apps. Have you tried closing all apps and rebooting you phone or just a full on "Restore as New"? I ask because it looks like you are running Safari which is optimized.

Yup closing the app fixes it. I also get this with Instagram since the last update.

I've seen the status bar show up unexpectedly in the Camera app.

Even better is when I switch back to the Springboard screens it then decides to use white, instead of the normal black text, which is not suitable for my lighter wallpaper.

Yes, happens every few days.

In fairness, the number of these minor/inconsequential bugs has certainly increased with iOS7 and 8... I guess I put it down to the number of new features as iOS grows, then these little bugs will increase.

It's not a problem, but yes, I sort of assume that if anyone would want to get on top of even these minor little UI bugs, then it would be Apple..
