Sorry pal. When the Candian dollar was at par, US and Canadian prices were the same.

It's Apple's choice to gouge Canadians. If you want to defend that, then go right ahead. But you can't just pretend like they aren't doing it.

Has absolutely nothing to do with the exchange rate. Read the original post. Apple decided to gauge a good $60 above the exchange rate.

Why do Apple fanatics keep trying to make excuses for the company?

It's not excuses- it's more so the fact people on here have no idea what factors come into play for a global company and pricing. Trying to explain that to people on here is useless since you think typing a number into google and calculating the currency exchange rate is the only factor which decides pricing.

Apple doesn't seem to be consistent with what they do with Canadian pricing though. It seems like iPads are generally priced below the exchange rate in Canada. For example the iPad Mini 4 is priced at $399 in the US but only $439 in Canada, if that was priced at the current exchange rate (about 0.75), which has been about the same for the last year they would be charging about $529 CAD for the iPad Mini 4. Same is true for most of the iPads except the Pros which is about right for the exchange rate. Alot of the Macs appear to be priced below the exchange rate as well. iPhones on the other hand appear to be consistently priced above the exchange rate. I think it's just the way Apple chooses to market their products in Canada... iPhones will sell at the higher price so Apple takes a higher margin on those products and accepts a lower margin on iPads since higher prices on those might hurt sales?

Educate us on all of the various factors that come into play then. I'll sit here and wait for your answers. Let's hear about all of these factors. I'd love to be educated on the subject.

You might also want to explain why pricing was at par when the Canadian dollar was at par. What happened to "the factors" then?

Or we can all just be honest and admit Apple is gouging simply because it can get away with it.
