In a van down by the river
For those of you who liked using the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack because of its slim form factor and easy carry, you have reason to be have hope again. Apple has partnered with Anker to sell the new exclusive (Apple online or in store) Anker MagGo Power Bank (5k, Slim) . The power bank is currently available in white and baby blue and its much slimmer than the old Apple MagSafe Battery pack, although it is slightly longer.

** I included several pictures of my baby blue model. Phone shown is the iPhone 16 Pro Max

The new battery pack magnet is very strong and doesn't easily come off and unlike the old Apple MagSafe Battery Pack, is very easily to slip in a pocket while attached to a charging phone.

Unlike the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack, the Anker Power Bank has a power button and led display on the side of the battery to let you know the charge status, which I really like.

As to form factor, it feels very comfortable in the hand (like the Apple MagSafe Wallet) and doesn't feel bulky at all, nor does it add much weight to the phone, unlike the Apple MagSafe Battery Pack. As a fan of the AMBP, I am glad to see this model now available in the Apple Store (as of December 13,2024).

Does it show its current capacity in the iOS battery widget like the Apple branded MagSafe Battery Pack?
No.

I don’t understand why they don’t allow third party battery packs to fully integrate into iOS like there one as they are not planning to update there own pack.

No, it does not. I wish that it didn't but, I don't believe Apples third party access. You have to look at the battery pack led battery status for that which amounts to 4 lights lit means full charge and 2 lights means half.

This is the Anker one right? Your thread title mentions Belkin

I found this Belkin one sold at Apple too. Both 5K but the Belkin one is almost twice as thick.

Wrong one.

Good catch on the thread title. I didn't realize I had accidentally put Belkin in.

I just got it and used it at Disney. Way better than any of my mophie power banks! I highly recommend it!
I’m definitely tempted to order it. I have the Anker Zolo power bank 20,000 and it’s a brick. Granted I can charge quickly and for several times, but it weighs my purse down.

Yeah the Anker MagGo is pretty light weight! You won’t be disappointed!

What color you thinking of getting? They have some nice colors

Are there any battery packs on the market that perfectly fit on the back of an iPhone 13 mini without sticking out on the side or on the bottom? I know, I am kind of late to the game ...

How do Apple claim this is Exclusive to them? You can buy it from Amazon and loads of places! lol Typical Apple.

Does it overheat? That’s why i went for the 10k over the 5k.

Are you sure they're the exact same model? I haven't found this one sold elsewhere. If you pay attention to the specs, you'll probably find that they are different models...which makes this one exclusive to Apple.

For example, this one at Amazon looks a lot like the one Apple sells (similar design - though the Apple one is a bit smaller and thinner, blue and white options, 5,000mAh)...but it doesn't support Qi2 and can only do 7.5W wireless charging. The one Apple sells supports Qi2 and does 15W wireless charging. Amazon does have some that support Qi2, but they are bigger/thicker 10,000mAh models.

Essentially, this particular model is exclusive to Apple, not the "product".
