i am about to purchase a new Mac and notice that from the HE store new Macs come with a standard 3 years warranty.

at the bottom of the configure your order page there is an option which states: EMEA CC-HE contract uplift Mac Pro/Power Mac [+ £58.75]

now what extra cover will this give me over the standard free 3 year warranty?

the standard warranty is 3 years but for hardware only.

the AppleCare option gives you a full 3 years of telephone support instead of 90 days.

it also means Apple will collect and return your Mac instead of you having to cart it to an Apple Store or reseller.

so if I don't purchase that option I will have to pay for shipping back to apple if the Mac goes wrong?
