Is there a reason to continue to have the study enabled on my watch? I have had it enabled for 48 Days.

It doesn't benefit you really, it's just to help Stanford University collect data for heart research. It's not really hurting anything though.

It can benefit you. App will notify you if irregular heartbeat is detected. And, you can get a video consult after detection. If you are healthy, probably no need to enroll. I have major heart issues and only an S0. Waiting to see what the S4 offers before buying it or an S3. But, want to enroll in the Study.

This.

Not an Apple device, but, friend's wearable flagged his irregular heart beat. Went to doc and he diagnosed an issue and got him on appropriate medications before things got worse. Now in safe health. So, imo, if family/personal history, upside to be sharing one's data. I'm in same boat, and probably should invest in a watch, but, don't stress myself like my friend does, and use the MIT Cardio app to spot check my rate when I feel maybe something odd.

I have family history of heart issues. I've been reading articles about the notifications for people who have issues. What series of Apple Watch allows the Heart Rate app to monitor my HR—and alert if my heart rises to an unusual level when I've been idle for over 10 minutes? Also what series can participate in the heart study? Thanks!

I would just leave it. I've had mine active for 149 days now and it still collects it's data. Be happy that you haven't gotten alerted to anything abnormal.

S1 and above can participate in the Apple Heart Rate Study.

The watch can only do so much as I had a monitor attached to me for a day and even that did not alert the doctors of anything.

Something is better than nothing, in my opinion. Especially when no harm is done by leaving the app active.

There are a lot of people who would like to participate in the study but they weren't allowed in. I've been using for 108 days and it contributed 977 data points. Even if these do me no good, hopefully someone else will benefit.
