This is funny because last night I was up late and randomly thought “I wonder if there are more loyalty/rewards cards I can add to Wallet…”

Had no idea I could add my United Airlines member card and my National Car Rental card. 🔥

Los Angeles has something similar (in theory) but the way it's being rolled out is fairly kack-handed, involving a partnership with a company called Healthvana, all sorts of restrictions on "did you get your vaccination at this type of place", "do you already have a Healthvana account" etc.

Presumably it will become more general; meanwhile if "Healthvana" means anything to you, you could look into that option right now.
it's all a bit scattered

United is using the ‘Travel-Ready Center’ (inside their own app)
IATA has partnered with what I would call "tier 2" Line BA, Swissair, Virgin

Clear has their Digital Vaccine card where you upload your card, and where the vaccine was administered and they actually verify the data (it required me to have a CVS account) It worked, after verification, it had much more data than I provided.

VeriFly is what AA (also BA, Aer Lingus and JAL) is using. Seems pretty straightforward. Lists the requirements by destination and you provide the docs. UK requires 1. Pre-test, 2. UK passenger locator, 3. Confirmation of booking for Day 2 and 8, with an optional Day 5 "test to release". Once done, they verify it all and you just bring up the app and show your QR at the airport. Pretty easy.. would be nice to add to Apple Wallet

If you pay via your watch, your wallet will not show you those transactions on iPhone. This sucks and should be fixed by Apple

Just last night I discovered I could add my Allstate car insurance card to Apple Wallet. Neat!

I've also got my Sam's Club membership card in there... and a couple store loyalty cards.

I already have the Allstate app on my phone for other reasons, such as Drivewise. Ditto for the Sam's Club app, which I need for Scan & Go, my shopping list, etc.

So at least for me, Wallet wouldn't eliminate the need for those apps because I use them for more than just a digital version of their cards. Or am I overlooking something?

Apple today introduced a new mini website that's dedicated to the Wallet app on the iPhone, highlighting the benefits and features that are available.

Apple explains that debit and credit cards can be added to the Wallet app "with no added effort," making them available for Apple Pay. The site also promotes Apple Cash and Apple Card, both Wallet app features, as well as transit cards that can be added to Wallet.

The Wallet app also supports airline boarding passes, loyalty cards, movie tickets, student IDs, and car keys (BMW only), plus content added to iPhone is mirrored on Apple Watch. The Wallet webpage was first noticed by 9to5Mac, and it comes right alongside redesigned Apple Pay and Apple Cash sites that highlight the benefits of the two payment features, which include ease of use, security, privacy, and wide acceptance in the U.S.All of the new pages include Wallet and Apple Pay FAQs and options to "Add a card" to the Wallet on iPhone or iPad or the Wallet section of the System Preferences on Mac.

Wish Apple would make available a Visa card instead of or in addition to Master Card. Costco doesn't take MasterCard

Apple Card is MasterCard not Discover card
They were referring to the Apple Pay Cash card (not the Apple Card) which is aligned with the Discover network.

Wrong, it absolutely does show up on the phone. I just checked.
The only way my Mastercard purchases made on my Apple Watch show up on my phone is to go into the iPhone Watch app and look up the Wallet app there.

Is there another way? The iPhone Wallet app does not show my Apple Watch purchases.

Nope... it's not really different. The apps work the same as Wallet.

I have the Wallet app on a homescreen... while some individual apps might be buried in a folder.

So maybe I'm saving a click by using Wallet? :)

I dunno... I just thought it was cool. I'm sure I have other apps with Wallet integration that I haven't discovered yet.

I always thought that Apple Pay was Apple Pay regardless of how you used it, but apparently not. Tried to buy something the other day with my Apple Pay Cash balance and the merchant wouldn’t let me. Told me they only support Apple Pay using cards
Cash uses the Discover network. Have run into that problem before where the merchant does not take Discover.

I was confused for a second and then I realized they take Visa in US Costco, here in Canada, they take MasterCard or Debit.
