All of that can be done with older iPads as well. Apple, give us a more advanced iPadOS to utilize that M1.
A Mac from 10 years can do everything that a Mac Pro can today. Ironically, the only difference for today's M1 Macs is that Apple is transitioning the OS to the silicon introduced in the iPad. (Remember: The Mac with Apple silicon developer kit was a Mac mini running on a A12Z processor!)

Apple is putting better hardware in iPads for iPad apps to run faster and perform better. There are many more professional apps and utilities on iPad and iOS than for MacOS. My firm develops several custom B2B apps.

So what are the more advanced features you would like in iPadOS, other than run MacOS?

So when the Ipad Air 4th gen was released, people were complaining that the 4GB RAM was not enough and the Ipad Air 4 would lose support after a few years.

Ipad Air 5 gets released with M1 and 8 GB, Centre stage, Faster USBC C speeds etc ... and all of a sudden, the usual people on MR start saying a Ipad Pro 2018/2020 refurbished are better deals and all of as sudden A12X/Z with 4/6GB RAM is enough and will be supported for years to come, when in reality they are already starting to lose support e.g. IOS 15 only allowing Mask Face ID with A14 and above... people just complain for the sake of complaining.

The truth is that most people outside of MR (99.9% of average Apple consumers) will be buying the iPad 10 and Ipad Air 5 64GB (the 256 GB version will sell a lot as well as it provides double the storage and unique colour options over the base Ipad Pro 11).

This was a lazy update tbh. M1 and CenterStage along with revised colours at the same price. If you are a professional you probably have an iPad Pro with ProMotion, so what is the benefit other than lower base storage and price and an omission of other features that an iPad Pro maybe a better choice.
It's iPad Air and not iPad Pro for a reason, if you are a "professional" who buys iPads Pro why would you care about iPad Air not beign "Pro" enough

So an LED flash is a “Pro” feature, I guess the mini 6 is a pro tablet even though it does not have “Pro” in its name.

What next OLED screens being a “Pro” feature when the standard iPhone 12 onwards have OLED. What is sad is that on iPad, Apple’s Pro line has been stagnating. Since 2018 we got an A12Z with one more GPU core and 2GB more base RAM including UW camera and LiDAR. 2021 iPP we got an M1 with more base RAM, CenterStage and T4 USB-C while only the larger model got mini-LED. As these “Pro” features make its way down the line what more can be done on the Pro line. At some point it’s slowing down and it’s becoming evident as the years go by.

I am still surprised by comments like this about "professional productivity." My firm develops several custom B2B iPad apps for businesses in real estate, medical offices, and corporate production companies. Our clients consider the iPads and iPadOS to be a far more capable "computer" environment for their needs with its portable form factor, easier connectivity options, battery efficiency, rear camera, and pencil support. Obviously, our apps benefit from faster processing, so I don't begrudge Apple from continuing to put better chips in their devices.

Commenters on rumor forums may not be using the iPad for productivity, but there are several business sectors that have become more efficient (with significantly less costly maintenance support) after deploying iPads to their staff.
Good point. I was referring to the B2C market mostly. Think video editing, music production, office productivity, etc. Things that make you sit down and work with a keyboard and mouse.

I agree that for the B2B market it is probably different because the end-user often is in the field working on specialised tasks that don't require a mouse/keyboard and can be done better by touch and with a device that can be passed on to co-workers or mounted on a magnetic stand very easily. E.g restaurants, engineers in the field, etc.
