Yes, the camera in the iPhone pro 14 is great. And yes, it is idiotic to show as charming a dangerous stunt of running wild in a crowd, where at any moment an old dude, like me, could get run over and perhaps have a broken hip.
Being a jerk is being a jerk, even if Apple approves.

Fyi Turkey doesn’t exist anymore. It’s only an animal now
I am quite sure that most people will keep calling Turkey… Turkey. I can’t even remember what the new name is supposed to be, nor I have any interest in learning it. Names can’t be decided by decree, especially the translation of a country name in a different language spoken in other countries.

This is pretty awesome but no one would do that in real life.
People taking selfies, pics of their pets and of their meals, while more real life-like, would probably make for a much less entertaining commercial. 😜

That video is excellent, and a way better soundtrack than many of the "American" promo videos done lately.
Soundtrack credit goes to an awesome Turkish psychedelic rock band from Amsterdam, Altin Gün. Have a couple of their records. I thought the music sounded familiar, but it wasn't until their cameo at the 1:27 mark that I knew it was them. Cool band. Recommend listening.

So, it’s Aladdin in Istanbul. Got it.
👍🏾
Seriously though. It’s very impressive, even allowing for the accessories and software used in conjunction with the iPhone.

Very well done advertising, but only very few can afford an iPhone 14 Pro in Turkey ($ 2300) due to the special state luxury tax. And at this price, I would be careful with such video recordings :).

I thought I would need action mode on my last vacation to Disney -didn’t need it -the standard stabilization is good enough and I didn’t have to lose 4K quality. Iphone 15 will probably bump the quality of action mode to 4k it is worth to wait if this is a feature you are interested

You might not realize that a Red is a true professional camera.

And that an iPhone Pro is not - the "Pro" moniker simply being a label to differentiate it from a regular iPhone. One doesn't need to be a professional film maker to purchase an iPhone.

I’m pretty sure anyone that knows what a Red camera is, is also aware of who they are made for.

Apple sure markets it as a professional tool. Is the Mac Pro just labeled as such to differentiate it from lesser Macs? I believe every other phone made has a “pro” mode with full manual controls, not sure why Apple hasn’t built it into their camera app yet.

There are a host of 3rd party applications for that. Personally happy they didn't go hog wild like Samsung and cram in a ton of features to confuse the app.

Prefer the way Apple and Google (Pixel) keep things simple but can get more advanced if needed with another app.

Aren’t there pretty much third party applications for everything? I used to have a bunch of camera apps on my phone and ended up never using any of them because not one of them had a good ui and weren’t worth the effort. If I’m gonna go through that much trouble I always end up just using my camera, and my iPhone if that’s all I have. It would be nice to be able to quickly adjust the iso/focus/white balance/shutter speed from the stock camera app, that’s all.

I guess it doesn’t really matter because anyone making a video like the one this post is about may have used a third party app anyways.

I just don’t see anything confusing about this, I have a Samsung as do hundreds of millions of non techy people around the world. IMG_0657.jpeg

It's Turkey if people call it Turkey.

Do you think, for example, the United States has jurisdiction over whether people in Finland call it Yhdysvallat or people in Bangladesh call it আমেরিকা? They can make a suggestion but every language has its own way of pronouncing other countries' names.

I like how they included the famous Dutch / Turkish psychedelic rock band Altin Gun at 1:26 but I can't tell if they're actually the members of the band or some look-alikes. 😅

Speaking of, it's definitely worth checking out their music on Apple Music. Apple even included them on one of the iPhone screens while talking about a feature on their latest keynote this month. apparently someone in their team loves their songs!

"Apple sure markets it as a professional tool."

iPhone Pro and Pro Max models represent about a third of all iPhone 14 sales.

It appears you believe Apple is marketing those phones to... professional phone users? Or maybe professional cinematographers? Really?

"Is the Mac Pro just labeled as such to differentiate it from lesser Macs?"

Yep. I've owned two in the past. And I'm certainly not a "professional" in the context you suggest. Like many others who purchase them

"I believe every other phone made has a “pro” mode with full manual controls, not sure why Apple hasn’t built it into their camera app yet."

No need to wonder. Apple manufactures and sells roughly 600,000 iPhones per day (on the average), every day of the year. I realize I'm sticking my neck out here, but perhaps Apple knows what they're doing (being one of the most successful companies in the world), and designs products to maximize sales.

Apple is not targeting their phones to professional cinematographers, despite the "pro" label that leads you to believe they do.

Nothing to do with anyone’s beliefs, unless you think the average person films things from helicopters with their iPhone? Have you seen any of their ads??

Straight from the source.

Well you must be the exception, I don’t know anyone whose ever bought a Mac Pro, and they certainly market it towards professional use.

They most certainly are marketing towards professional cinematographers as their ads show, and Android sales outpace iPhones sales worldwide. So… I’ve never heard anyone with an Android phone claim that they were “confused” by the existence of a pro mode in the camera app. IMG_0896.jpegIMG_0897.jpegIMG_0898.jpegIMG_0899.jpeg

Apple disagrees with your assertions about Apple. ☺️

Ok... if you want to really believe Apple is marketing iPhones to professional cinematographers, as that would be their camera of choice over a Red, Arri Alexa, Sony Venice, Panasonic, etc., that's fine. Perhaps you can list a few major blockbuster movies where iPhones were used, and the names of the cinematographers?

No doubt you also believe Apple Power Beats Pro earbuds are marketed by Apple to professional sound engineers in recording studios! After all, it does have the word "Pro" in the name of the device!

And iPad Pro. Marketed to "Professionals" of course!

MacBook Pro??? Yep!

All I wanted is some manual controls…🫠

Not sure about major Hollywood blockbusters but plenty of independent films.
