And yet, this persists in iOS26…
A message is read by Siri
Siri, “Do you want to reply?”
Me, “No”
Siri, “Sending, ‘no’”
It was flawless in iOS 16
It began in iOS17.something.
Feedback submitted several times without a response.

That’s never happened to me once.

I never understood why those knob systems even exist
I've got to second that. I have the knob system in my 2017 BMW, and it's awful. It is way more distracting to use than the touch screen in my son's 2023 Prius. Besides, somewhere in the last round of updates to iOS, it just goes out to lunch sometimes, and I have to reboot my phone for the controller to start working again. Like that's not a problem while driving.

Can we just be able to touch an album cover and see the songs, and click a song to play it?? Why is that so hard??
Tapping on the album title does this, and a Queue button has been added to the Now Playing screen.

The rounded corners of CarPlay look bad when it's not covering the full screen. Unless the entire background is black, you get these awful looking black cut-outs around the corners.

I've attached one, but I've seen many examples of this over the years.

Why is the album cover NOT included in the art to tap? Why is this obvious usability issue not addressed? This interface is supposed to be designed for use while driving, yet they continue to make things like text labels the buttons instead of making actual buttons- or obvious elements like the album cover clickable.

Is that what I think it is… Apple has finally got rid of the infuriating full-screen “someone is calling you” overlay nonsense?

All I can think of is displaying cover art is optional, whereas the album title is not.

One small feature here, a nice little feature there, and we got a unified ecosystem that’s amazing. What a time to be alive.

If only I can afford that Aston Martin!

Excellent changes all around, especially to Apple Maps. My only complaint is there was no mention of animated cover art in Apple Music in CarPlay.
