Why they'd bring back See... I do not know.
Our friends who suggested it to us, my bf and I are very much looking forward to it. Very curious where it goes next. Did you watch it to the end or stop early? It ended in a very different place than we all expected, but it has been much more interesting than I would have guessed.

whilst I don’t think it was the best show I’ve ever seen I would certainly watch another season of it.
I am most impressed that they managed to get to get past the absurd premise. They have done a really great job making all the individual accommodations for a blind populace interesting/reasonable, while never leaving enough space to people to think out how silly the big problems are.

Am I the only one who doesn't get hooked by any of the shows? 😂😂
Probably not the only one. They have a small library, so it is completely possible you do not like any of it.
I always end up like this when I try to watch the Apple TV originals: start the first episode of a show, watch the first 15 minutes, feeling it boring as heck, then start fast forwarding/jumping to the end of the episode and see nothing interesting in the middle, then go to another show...
What shows have you watched? What kind of shows do you like? What are your top four shows on any service?

I loved Ted Lasso, really liked For All Mankind, Mythic Quest, See and The Morning Show. After the first episode of Tehran, see the potential for greatness. I have started Defending Jacob and I want to watch Servant, and Dickinson but have not had time yet.

Very excited about Foundation and a few other shows. Hope some of the new shows are as good as Ted Lasso, but even a tier below that would be fine. :-D

Yeah… I have to admit that I quit watching it about half way. I just could not get into it and it just seemed over the top end kind of boring actually. Maybe I should give it a go again.

Apple shows that I really enjoyed:

Ted Lasso
For All Mankind
Little America
Tehran
Long Way Up

My family also loved:

Amazing Stories
The Morning Show

Generally speaking I found that signal to noise ratio is higher on Apple originals vs let’s say Netflix or Amazon. Except See haha…

As @cmaier it gets more interesting later in the show. I cannot guarantee that you will love it, but it is worth watching to the end.

I think Ted Lasso may be the best show I have seen in a very long time. Just amazing.
For All Mankind
Little America
Tehran
Long Way Up
Have not tried Little America or Long Way Up yet, but I am having heard an interview with Ewan McGregor, I am interested.
My family also loved:

Amazing Stories
The Morning Show
I have only watched the first episode of Amazing Stories and I really liked it. Will probably finish the series in a bit.

Same here.
Except See haha…
Not every show or every film will hit with everyone. It is the show about which I think whenever I hear people say the shows are “all PG” or “not edgy”. It does not make it good, just that they clearly have not tried many of the shows.

I’m waiting for Foundation…
Yes - although Apple while keeps extending the "free" Apple TV+ (now to July) it seems that Foundation gets put further back (now to Fall) so it is beyond the free period.
BTW I suppose "fall" means around October for anyone outside the USA (& Canada?) :)

Recent (probably not so recent lol) favorite shows: Altered Carbon, Stranger Things, Downton Abby, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
I have to say that I found myself getting less and less patient watching new TV shows. When I don't get hooked in the first 15 min or so, I'll just skip it... (BTW I'm also very excited about Foundation, that's like the only Apple TV original I'm actually interested in)

Is there some reason to subscribe to ATV+ that I'm not aware of? It certainly can't be for the content. I thought For All Mankind might be interesting, it wasn't. I'd like to see a good take on Foundation, but the trailer I saw looks like another "don't bother".

If I were going to subscribe at all, it'd be after a series was done, subscribe for a single month, binge watch it, done, discontinue. Treat it like people treat CBS All Access.

There are about 25 great reasons. Apple has around 25 excellent exclusive original series and movies. I can vouch for that having watched every single TV+ release (minus Oprah stuff). The many many A+ reviews on rottentomatoes and IMDB can also vouch for that sentiment. Though there isn't a massive backlog of content (that will change), the quality for the existing content is the absolute best out there. Apple had a stronger 2020 original lineup than Netflix or HBO, easily. So much trash mixed in on Netflix, all for Queen's Gambit and The Crown. The ratio of quality to trash on Netflix is incredibly bad. HBO had Flight Attendant as a standout. Not much else. I hated Lovecraft Country with a passion.

TLDR: Apple TV+ is the best streaming service of 2020 in terms of quality output x price point.

I have really been trying with Altered Carbon, but I am only 2 or 3 episodes into it. We are on the second or third episode of season two of Stranger Things, and while it is interesting enough to make us keep watching, it has not been good enough to get us to binge it. Heard good things about the other two, but have not watched any of either.

Which of the Apple TV+ shows have you tried?
I have to say that I found myself getting less and less patient watching new TV shows.
It is funny, I understand that, but think it is a problem for the streaming services in that they commission full seasons and so are less worried about capturing everyone in the first few minutes. That is certainly true for HBO and TV+. Maybe less true for Netflix.

Even Tehran builds more slowly than 15 minutes. I really recommend watching the first episode and trying to hold off until it is done to pass judgement.

I am excited about it. I hope it is good. :)

Apple sucks.
Why is my USA-based Apple TV trying to talk to cma-china.itunes-apple.com.akadns.net all the time?
I can guess what you think you're implying, but Apple has been distributing content via Akamai for years. That name is a CNAME, it reverses to cma.itunes-apple.com.akadns.net, which reverses to four different IP addresses all within Apple's 17.0.0.0/8 IP block. A geolocation says the IP address is in Nevada.

Finally, I need more episodes of See.

It's been a while since I found anything that good.
Very interesting universe they came up with.

I loved See tbh. The premise was a bit sketchy, but they delivered. Besides - it is such a gorgeous/cinematic show. A+

I usually watch an episiode of a TV series and I can tell if I would find it entertaining or insulting. Most television these days is just insulting and I don't bother past one episode.

Nah. I keep Netflix for the back catalog. I have D+ because it's free. ATV+ doesn't have either one of those going for it.
