One of the frustrating features of the iWatch 6, is the blood oxygen readings. The sensor on me has to be just so, and it might take a reading , but mostly complain that the watch isn't high or low enough on the wrist too loose too tight and when I do get a reading, doesn't do it unless I go through the routine to get it to function. I am close to just using my iHealth finger unit and be happy. The heart rate works just fine. My new concern would be , the blood glucose feature, if the sensor is built into the watch, will it be a pain in the tush like the oxygen sensor, or will it be something that can read an attached to the body device ? Does anyone else have issues with the oxygen sensor actually taking a reading?

Wise decision. Rumors are now suggesting the 7 will not only not get the glucose monitor, but that the rumored redesign won’t be this year either. Looks like a meh update.

I am glad as I spent a lot of money in the last 5-6 months on my AW purchases (2 AW6 and 2 AW5) and didn't want those to become obsolete (or drop in resale value significantly) this soon.

Wish Apple would buy the compony that supplies Garmin with their far superior optical HR sensors.

Interesting you say that. My experience was the opposite. The Fenix 6S was much less accurate for activities compared to my Apple Watch. That was part of why I returned it. To give up the functions of the Apple Watch, the fitness features had to be close to perfect for me.

I have the Apple Watch Series 6 Nike edition and the O2 sensor has been spot on for me. Very accurate. Your wrist has to be straight tho. I only got a “can’t read“ message a few times when i had my hand bent at a weird angle. Otherwise no problems.

Never seen something like that on my S6, S5, S4, or S3. It is extremely accurate and never misses it. Garmin Fénix 6x pro is great about 95% of time but those 5% it jumps up and down like crazy. So, Garmin is mostly accurate about 95% of time but can’t compare with Apple Watch which is 100% accurate. I use both at the same time for quite some time on bike rides.

I believe it is related to the amount of arm swing or arm movement. Biking is dead on for me too. Running is by far the biggest problem. Here are 2 examples from this morning. Elliptical is spot on (the down dip was when I had to stop for a text) but Stair Stepper (I don't hold on and swing my arms) is a mess. I looked at about 6 minutes and it was "flat" reading about 100bpm when my HR was about 140-150bpm. I powered off/on and it started "flat" reading again about 120bpm and then dropped. Also on the Stair Stepper I was doing a double/inverted V program so the graph should reflect that.

It just can't seem to read accurately or at all if there is too much motion.
