That's just crazy!

Apple is best at computers, iPhones, software, etc. Their decision to start selling jeans is plain stupid and ridiculous. I'm done with this company.

Android, here I come!

Me too!

The only thing giving me pause is we will finally be able to forget our iPhones in our pockets and wash them without issue.

Hmmm, maybe I won't switch.

What the ****....lol

This is retail guys. They're not changing up their entire line up of products just because they hired one guy from levi's.

Based upon early reactions in this thread, seems like most aren't haven't a violent reaction like they did to this guy...

John Browett was Tim Cook's biggest misstep thus far...

They didn't hire him... they bought him with the Union Square property in SF.

For those that didn't bother to read his Linkedin bio

Current
Apple Retail at Apple
Senior Vice President Retail Americas and Global Store Operations and Training COE at Levi Strauss & Co.

Past
VP Retail and Operations, Levi Strauss Americas at Levi Strauss & Co.
Vice President, Store Operations North America at The Disney Store
Regional Director at The Walt Disney Company

That's a very brand centered resume. Disney and Levi's! Way more in line with Apple, that Browett.

I believe the Levis brand was Jobs' choice of jeans too.
Still recall Jobs unveiling the iPod Nano from the tiny jean pocket.

Union Square

Levi's just moved it's SF flagship store to Market Street from Union Square -- a location which Apple wants to take (remember the whole fountain debacle?). At least there are some synergies there...

Apple also just hired the director of marketing from St. Croix clothiers, makers of Steve Jobs' famed turtleneck, and the head of product development at New Balance. They also secretly hired several lead researchers from the Roslin Institue, who famously cloned the sheep Dolly.

HMM.

Apple's stock in after hours:
